6. Setup

6.1 Installation

  1. Power Disconnection: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the circuit where the meter will be installed is completely turned off at the main breaker.
  2. DIN Rail Mounting: Mount the KTEM07C WIFI Smart Energy Monitor onto a standard 35mm DIN rail. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  3. Wiring: Connect the input (IN) and output (OUT) terminals according to the wiring diagram provided. Ensure correct connection of Neutral (N) and Live (L) wires. Tighten all terminal screws firmly to prevent loose connections.

6.2 App Installation and Pairing

  1. Download App: Download the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app from your smartphone's app store (Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS).
  2. Register/Login: Open the app and register for a new account or log in with an existing one.
  3. Enable Wi-Fi: Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The device does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  4. Enter Pairing Mode: Restore power to the energy monitor. Press and hold the 'Wifi' button on the device until the Wi-Fi indicator light starts blinking rapidly.
  5. Add Device: In the Smart Life/Tuya app, tap '+' or 'Add Device'. Select 'Electrical Engineer' > 'Circuit Breaker (Wi-Fi)' or 'Energy Meter (Wi-Fi)'. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the device to your Wi-Fi network.
  6. Confirmation: Once successfully paired, the Wi-Fi indicator light on the device will stop blinking and remain solid. The device will appear in your app.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Display Overview

The LCD screen displays various real-time electrical parameters:

  • Energy (kWh): Total energy consumption.
  • Voltage (V): Current line voltage.
  • Current (A): Current flowing through the circuit.
  • Leakage Current (mA): Indicates leakage current.
  • Pulse: Pulse indicator.

7.2 Button Functions

  • 'M' Button: Used to view or set parameters. Press to cycle through different display modes or enter settings.
  • '+' Button: Used to increase values when setting parameters.
  • 'Wifi' Button: Used to enter Wi-Fi pairing mode (long press) or decrease values when setting parameters (short press).
  • Power Button: Used to turn the device on or off.

7.3 Remote Control and Monitoring

Once connected to the Smart Life/Tuya app, you can:

  • Remote ON/OFF: Turn the connected circuit on or off from anywhere.
  • Real-time Data: View current voltage, current, and power consumption in real-time.
  • Historical Data: Access daily, monthly, and yearly energy consumption statistics to track usage and manage costs.

7.4 Protection Functions

The device offers multiple protection features configurable via the app:

  • Overvoltage Protection: Set a maximum voltage limit.
  • Undervoltage Protection: Set a minimum voltage limit.
  • Current Limit Protection: Set a maximum current limit.
  • Leakage Current Protection: Detects and protects against leakage currents.

When any set limit is exceeded, the device will automatically cut off power to protect connected appliances and the electrical system. It will attempt to reconnect after a configurable delay.

7.5 Timer Function

Use the app's timer function to create schedules for your connected devices. This allows for automated control, enhancing convenience and energy efficiency.

7.6 Prepaid Function

The device supports a prepaid function, allowing you to manage energy expenses by setting an energy balance. Once the balance is depleted, the device can automatically cut off power until recharged.

  • App Not Responding: Ensure your smartphone has a stable internet connection. Restart the app or your phone. Check for app updates.
