Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SinoTrack G9 GPS Speedometer, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure the USB connection port is free from dust and debris.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this may affect the display and internal components.
- Periodically check the suction cup mount for secure attachment.
Troubleshooting
1. No GPS Display / No Speed
- Ensure the device is powered on and has a clear view of the sky to acquire satellite signals.
- Check if the USB cable is damaged. Replace with a new USB cable if necessary.
- The device may take a few minutes to connect to satellites, especially in areas with poor signal or when first powered on.
- If the satellite icon is flashing, it indicates the device is searching for satellites. A steady icon means it is connected.
2. Inaccurate Speed Reading
- Calibrate the speed using Setting 1 (Speed Calibration) in the menu. Compare the G9's reading with a reliable GPS-based speed source (e.g., a smartphone GPS app) and adjust accordingly.
3. Display Not Clear in Bright Sunlight
- The device features an automatic light-sensitive screen. Ensure the small sensor hole on the back is not blocked.
- Adjust the brightness manually using Setting 4 (Brightness Setting) and set it to '11' for maximum brightness.
4. Mileage Does Not Accumulate After Car is Off
- This is normal behavior for generic automotive speedometers. Mileage logging relies on continuous power. Once the car is turned off and power is cut, the current trip mileage resets. Other settings are saved after initial setup.
