Setup and Installation
The SHLUCE Flush Mount Caged Ceiling Fan is designed for easy installation, with the main unit already assembled. Follow these steps carefully.
1. Pre-Installation Checks
- Turn off power at the main circuit breaker.
- Verify that the electrical box is securely mounted and capable of supporting the fan's weight.
- Ensure you have all necessary tools (screwdriver, wire strippers, ladder, etc.).
2. Mounting the Fan
Attach the fan's mounting bracket to the electrical junction box using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly secured.

Figure 1: Product Dimensions and Key Features. This image illustrates the overall dimensions of the fan (approximately 18.1 inches wide, 9.5 inches high) and highlights features such as the 6-speed fan, E26 light bulb bases, reversible motor, and timing functions. It also shows the included remote control and the 8-blade design.
3. Wiring Connections
Connect the fan's electrical wires to your household wiring according to the wiring diagram provided in the full product manual (not included here). Typically, this involves connecting live, neutral, and ground wires. Use the provided wire nuts to secure connections.
4. Installing Light Bulbs
This fan requires four E26 base light bulbs (not included). Screw the bulbs into the ceramic lamp holders. Ensure bulbs are securely seated but do not overtighten.

Figure 2: E26 Ceramic Lamp Holder and Bulb Compatibility. This image demonstrates the fan with its lights off and on, emphasizing the E26 ceramic lamp holders. It also displays various types of E26 bulbs that are compatible with the fan, reminding users that bulbs are not included.
5. Final Assembly
Once wiring is complete and bulbs are installed, carefully push the fan unit up to the mounting bracket and secure it with the designated screws. Ensure all connections are tucked safely within the electrical box.
IMPORTANT: After installation, restore power at the circuit breaker and test the fan and lights.
Operating Instructions
Your SHLUCE ceiling fan is controlled by the included remote control. Ensure batteries are installed in the remote (batteries not included).
Remote Control Functions

Figure 3: Fan Operation with Remote Control. This image displays the ceiling fan in operation, with visible airflow, and highlights the remote control used to manage its functions.
- ALL OFF: Turns off both fan and lights.
- LIGHT ON/OFF: Toggles the light on or off.
- FAN ON/OFF: Toggles the fan on or off.
- Fan Speed (1-6): Adjusts the fan speed from 1 (lowest) to 6 (highest).
- Timing (1H/2H/4H): Sets the fan to turn off automatically after 1, 2, or 4 hours.
- F/R (Forward/Reverse): Changes the direction of the fan rotation for summer or winter mode.
Fan Speed Settings

Figure 4: Fan Speed and Timing Features. This image illustrates the fan's 6-speed capability, categorized into Gentle (speeds 1-2), Comfortable (speeds 3-4), and Strong (speeds 5-6) wind settings. It also highlights the ultra-quiet operation and timing functions.
The fan offers 6 distinct speeds, allowing you to customize airflow to your preference:
- Speeds 1-2: Gentle wind, ideal for light air circulation.
- Speeds 3-4: Comfortable wind, suitable for general use.
- Speeds 5-6: Strong wind, for maximum cooling effect.
Reversible Motor Function

Figure 5: Reversible Motor Modes. This image visually explains the two modes of the reversible motor: Downdraft Mode, which pushes cold air down for summer cooling, and Updraft Mode, which circulates warm air upwards for better heat distribution in winter.
The fan features a reversible motor, allowing for year-round comfort:
- Downdraft Mode (Summer): The fan blades rotate counter-clockwise, pushing cool air downwards to create a cooling effect.
- Updraft Mode (Winter): The fan blades rotate clockwise, drawing air up towards the ceiling to circulate warm air trapped near the ceiling, distributing it throughout the room.
To change direction, press the F/R button on the remote control while the fan is running.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and performance of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: To clean the fan, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish. Ensure power is off before cleaning.
- Bulb Replacement: When replacing light bulbs, ensure the power is off. Allow bulbs to cool before touching. Use only E26 base bulbs.
- Tightening Screws: Periodically check all screws on the fan and mounting bracket to ensure they are tight. Loose connections can cause noise or malfunction.
