Initial Setup
Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Place the espresso machine on a stable, level surface near a power outlet. Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for ventilation and access to the water tank and bean hopper.
Water Tank Preparation
Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Rinse it thoroughly with fresh water. Fill the tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. If desired, insert the included water filter as per the filter's instructions. Reinsert the water tank firmly into the machine.
Bean Hopper and Grinder Settings
Open the lid of the bean hopper located on top of the machine. Pour fresh whole coffee beans into the hopper. The Magnifica Start features a built-in conical burr grinder with 13 adjustable settings. For initial use, we recommend starting with a medium grind setting (around 3-5) and adjusting based on your preference for coffee strength and flow. Finer settings produce stronger coffee, while coarser settings result in milder coffee.

The integrated conical burr grinder ensures fresh coffee for every brew.
Initial Rinse Cycle
Before first use, or after a period of inactivity, perform an initial rinse cycle. Place a container under the coffee spouts. Turn on the machine. The machine will automatically perform a self-cleaning cycle, dispensing hot water. This primes the system and ensures optimal performance.
