Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference. The ALZA Omega pressure cooker is designed for durability and performance, featuring 18/10 stainless steel construction and compatibility with all types of cooktops, including induction.
Important Safety Instructions
When using your pressure cooker, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury.
- Read all instructions thoroughly before operating the appliance.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. The bakelite handles are designed for a secure and comfortable grip, offering heat resistance.
- Close supervision is necessary when the pressure cooker is used near children.
- Do not place the pressure cooker in a heated oven.
- Exercise extreme caution when moving a pressure cooker containing hot liquids.
- Do not use the pressure cooker for purposes other than its intended use.
- This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating.
- Never force the pressure cooker open. Ensure the internal pressure is completely released before opening.
- Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full. Overfilling may cause a risk of clogging the vent pipe and developing excess pressure.
- Be aware that certain foods, such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal or other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, or spaghetti can foam, froth, and sputter, and clog the pressure release device. These foods should not be cooked in a pressure cooker.
- Always check the pressure release devices for clogging before use.
- The ALZA Omega features a triple security system with operating and safety valves, a closing gasket, and a side window to ensure safe operation. Regularly inspect these components.
- Do not use this pressure cooker for deep frying with oil under pressure.
- Do not tamper with any safety systems beyond the maintenance instructions specified in this manual.

Setup and First Use
- Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials, labels, and stickers from the pressure cooker and its components.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the pressure cooker body, lid, and all accessories (including the steaming basket) with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Inspect: Check that all parts, especially the gasket and safety valves, are correctly positioned and free from any damage or obstructions.
Operating Instructions
Filling the Pressure Cooker
- Always add a minimum of 250ml (1 cup) of liquid to the pressure cooker for proper operation.
- Do not fill the pressure cooker more than two-thirds (2/3) full with food and liquid combined.
- For foods that expand (e.g., rice, beans, dried vegetables), do not fill more than half (1/2) full.
Closing the Lid
Place the lid on the pressure cooker body, aligning the arrows or indicators on the lid and handle. Rotate the lid handle until it locks securely into place. Ensure the lid is properly sealed before applying heat.
Cooking on the Stovetop
The ALZA Omega pressure cooker is compatible with all types of cooktops, including gas, electric, ceramic, and induction. Its thermodiffuser sandwich bottom ensures uniform heat distribution for efficient cooking.

Place the pressure cooker on a burner that matches the diameter of its base. Begin cooking on high heat until the operating valve begins to release steam, indicating that pressure has been reached.
Pressure Regulation
Your ALZA Omega pressure cooker offers two working pressure speeds. Once pressure is reached, reduce the heat to maintain a steady, gentle release of steam from the operating valve. Refer to your recipe for the appropriate pressure level and cooking time.

Opening the Pressure Cooker Safely
Before opening the lid, ensure all internal pressure has been released. There are generally two methods for depressurizing:
- Natural Release: Remove the pressure cooker from heat and allow it to cool down naturally. Pressure will gradually decrease. This method is ideal for foods that benefit from additional cooking time.
- Quick Release: For faster depressurization, carefully move the pressure release valve to the vent position. Be cautious of escaping steam. Do not use this method for foamy foods.
Once the pressure indicator drops and no steam is escaping, you can safely open the lid by rotating it in the opposite direction of closing.
Using the Steaming Basket
The included steaming basket allows for healthy steaming of vegetables, fish, and other foods. Place the basket on the trivet (if included) above the liquid in the pressure cooker. Ensure the water level is below the basket.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
- Pressure Cooker Body: Wash the stainless steel body with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. For stubborn food residues, soak in warm water before cleaning. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots.
- Lid and Gasket: Remove the gasket from the lid for cleaning. Wash the lid and gasket separately with warm soapy water. Ensure the gasket is clean and flexible. Reinsert the gasket correctly after cleaning.
- Valves: Regularly check and clean the operating and safety valves to ensure they are free from food particles and blockages. Use a small brush if necessary.
- Dishwasher Safety: The ALZA Omega pressure cooker is NOT dishwasher safe. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the quality and longevity of the materials, especially the bakelite handles and sealing components.
Storage
Store the pressure cooker in a dry place. It is recommended to store the lid inverted on the pot to allow air circulation and prevent the gasket from compressing permanently.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your pressure cooker. If you experience a problem not listed here, please contact customer support.
- Problem: Pressure not building.
- Solution: Check if the lid is properly closed and sealed. Ensure the gasket is correctly seated and not damaged. Verify that the operating valve is in the correct position and not clogged. Increase heat if necessary.
- Problem: Steam escaping from around the lid.
- Solution: This usually indicates an improper seal. Check the gasket for damage or incorrect placement. Ensure the lid is securely locked. Reduce heat slightly if steam is escaping excessively from the main valve.
- Problem: Lid cannot be opened after cooking.
- Solution: This means there is still pressure inside. Do not force it open. Allow the cooker to cool down completely or use the quick release method until the pressure indicator drops fully.
