The SAMSUNG Odyssey G50D monitor is designed to deliver a high-performance visual experience with its QHD resolution, fast refresh rate, and adaptive sync technologies.

2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent damage to your monitor or injury to yourself and others.
- Power Source: Use only the power cord supplied with the monitor. Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded.
- Ventilation: Do not block ventilation openings. Allow adequate space around the monitor for proper airflow.

4. Setup
4.1 Assembling the Stand
- Carefully remove the monitor from its packaging, keeping it protected on a soft surface.
- Attach the stand neck to the monitor's rear panel. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
- Connect the stand base to the stand neck. Tighten the screw at the bottom of the base to secure it.

4.2 Connecting Cables
Locate the input ports on the rear of the monitor. Refer to Figure 4.2 for port identification.

- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the monitor's power input (4) and then to a wall outlet.
- Video Connection: Connect one end of the supplied DisplayPort (DP) cable to the DP In port (2) on the monitor and the other end to the DisplayPort output on your computer's graphics card. Alternatively, use an HDMI cable to connect to the HDMI In port (1).
- Audio Output: If desired, connect headphones or external speakers to the 3.5mm audio output jack (headphone icon).
4.3 Initial Power On
After connecting all necessary cables, press the power button (typically a joystick-style button located on the bottom center of the monitor) to turn on the monitor. Your computer should detect the monitor automatically.
5. Operating the Monitor
5.1 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu
The monitor's settings are controlled via the OSD menu, accessed using the joystick button on the bottom center of the monitor.
- Press the joystick button to open the OSD menu.
- Move the joystick up/down/left/right to navigate through menu options.
- Press the joystick button to select an option or confirm a setting.
- Move the joystick left to go back to the previous menu or exit the OSD.
5.2 Key Features and Settings
- QHD Resolution (2560x1440): Provides detailed and sharp images. Ensure your graphics card and operating system are configured to output at this resolution.
- 180Hz Refresh Rate & 1ms Response Time (GtG): For smooth motion and reduced blur in fast-paced content. Enable the highest refresh rate in your operating system's display settings and graphics card control panel. Adjust response time settings in the OSD if available (e.g., 'Extreme mode').

- VESA DisplayHDR 400: Enhances contrast with deeper blacks and brighter whites. Activate HDR in your operating system settings for compatible content.

- G-Sync Compatible / AMD FreeSync: Synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with your graphics card's frame rate to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering. Ensure this feature is enabled in your graphics card's control panel.
- Eye Saver Mode: Reduces blue light emissions to minimize eye strain during extended use. This can be toggled on/off in the OSD menu.
- Ergonomic Stand: The stand allows for height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot (90-degree rotation) for optimal viewing comfort.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Monitor
- Always unplug the monitor from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a specialized screen cleaner.
- Do not spray cleaner directly onto the screen. Apply it to the cloth first.
- Avoid using benzene, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the screen surface.
