1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Lumos Ultra MIPS+ Smart Bike Helmet. This helmet is designed to enhance your safety and riding experience with integrated lighting and smart features. Please read this manual carefully before using your helmet to ensure proper operation and maintenance.

2. What's Included

The Lumos Ultra MIPS+ Bundle includes the following components:

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your Lumos Ultra helmet and the Lumos Remote Lite. The helmet uses a USB Type-C cable, and the remote uses a magnetic charging cable. A full charge can take approximately 2-3 hours.

3.2 Helmet Fit and Adjustment

Ensure the helmet fits snugly and comfortably. Adjust the retention system at the back of the helmet and the chin straps for a secure fit. The helmet should not move freely on your head.

3.3 Remote Pairing

The Lumos Remote Lite controls the helmet's turn signals. To pair:

  1. Turn on your Lumos Ultra helmet.
  2. Press and hold the button on the Lumos Remote Lite until its indicator light flashes.
  3. The remote and helmet will automatically pair. A successful pairing is indicated by a solid light on the remote.

3.4 Smartphone App Connection

Download the Lumos Helmet App from your device's app store. The app allows for advanced customization and features.

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  2. Open the Lumos Helmet App and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your helmet.
  3. Once connected, you can customize light patterns, adjust brightness, and track rides.

4. Operating the Helmet

4.1 Power On/Off

To power on the helmet, press and hold the power button located on the rear of the helmet until the lights illuminate. To power off, press and hold the same button until the lights turn off.

4.2 Turn Signals

The Lumos Remote Lite, mounted on your handlebars, controls the turn signals. Press the left button for a left turn signal and the right button for a right turn signal. The corresponding rear lights on the helmet will flash to indicate your turn.

4.3 Light Customization and Brightness

Use the Lumos Helmet App to customize your helmet's light patterns and adjust brightness levels. You can choose from various blinking patterns and brightness settings to suit different riding conditions and personal preferences.

4.4 360-Degree Visibility

The integrated front and rear LED lights ensure you are visible from all angles, significantly enhancing your safety, especially in low-light conditions.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Clean the helmet shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the finish or internal components. The internal padding can be removed and hand-washed with mild soap and water, then air-dried.

5.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the helmet and remote frequently. Charge them regularly, especially if storing for extended periods. Store the helmet in a cool, dry place.

5.3 Storage

Store your helmet in a safe place where it will not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or physical damage. Keep it away from sharp objects that could scratch or puncture the shell.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Lights Not Turning On

  • Ensure the helmet is fully charged.
  • Press and hold the power button firmly for a few seconds.
  • If the issue persists, try resetting the helmet by holding the power button for 10 seconds until it cycles.

6.2 Remote Not Controlling Turn Signals

  • Check if the remote is charged.
  • Ensure the remote is paired with the helmet (refer to Section 3.3).
  • Confirm the helmet is powered on.

6.3 App Connectivity Issues

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  • Make sure the helmet is powered on and within range.
  • Try restarting both the helmet and the app.
  • Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.

7. Safety Information

The Lumos Ultra MIPS+ helmet is designed to provide protection during cycling. It features MIPS technology, which is an additional safety system designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts.
