Energeeks SA-003 RF Door/Window Opening Sensor Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

The Energeeks SA-003 RF Door/Window Opening Sensor is designed to enhance the security of your home or business by detecting the opening of doors and windows. This sensor communicates via radio frequency (RF) with compatible Energeeks alarm systems, providing real-time alerts and enabling smart home automation scenarios.

Important: This sensor requires an existing Energeeks PROTECT (EG-AW003) or PROTECT PLUS (EG-AWG003) alarm system to function. It is not a standalone device.

2. Package Contents

  • 1 x Energeeks SA-003 Sensor Unit
  • 1 x Magnetic Contact Unit
  • Mounting Accessories (Adhesive pads and/or screws)

3. Setup

3.1 Physical Installation

  1. Choose Location: Identify a door or window where you want to install the sensor. Ensure the two parts of the sensor (main unit and magnet) can be mounted within 1 cm of each other when the door/window is closed.
  2. Clean Surface: Clean the mounting surface thoroughly to ensure proper adhesion if using adhesive pads.
  3. Mount Main Unit: Attach the larger sensor unit to the fixed frame of the door or window using the provided adhesive pads or screws.
  4. Mount Magnet Unit: Attach the smaller magnet unit to the moving part of the door or window, aligning it with the main sensor unit. Ensure the alignment marks on both units face each other and they are within 1 cm when closed.

3.2 Pairing with Alarm System

To integrate the SA-003 sensor with your Energeeks alarm system (EG-AW003 or EG-AWG003), follow the pairing instructions provided in your main alarm system's user manual. Typically, this involves putting the alarm panel into pairing mode and then triggering the sensor (e.g., by separating the two parts) to register it with the system.

3.3 App Connection and Configuration

Once paired with your alarm system, the sensor's status will be accessible via the Energeeks mobile application (available for iOS and Android). Use the app to:

  • View the sensor's current status (open/closed).
  • Receive real-time notifications when the sensor is triggered.
  • Configure smart scenarios, such as activating lights or cameras upon detection.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Detection and Notifications

When the sensor's main unit and magnet unit are separated (i.e., a door or window is opened), the sensor will transmit a signal to your connected Energeeks alarm system. The alarm system will then:

  • Trigger the alarm (if armed).
  • Send real-time notifications to your mobile device via the Energeeks app.
  • For PROTECT PLUS systems, send SMS notifications in case of WiFi signal loss or power outage.

4.2 Smart Home Integration

The Energeeks system, including the SA-003 sensor, is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa. This allows for voice control and the creation of advanced automation routines:

  • Voice Commands: Use voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant to check the status of your alarm system or specific sensors (if supported by your main alarm panel).
  • Smart Scenarios: Configure rules within the Energeeks app or your smart home platform (e.g., Alexa routines, Google Assistant routines) to automate actions based on the sensor's status. For example, turn on a light when a door opens, or activate a surveillance camera.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

The SA-003 sensor is battery-powered. When the battery level is low, your alarm system or the Energeeks app may indicate this. To replace the battery:

  1. Carefully open the main sensor unit casing.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 coin cell battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the casing securely.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the sensor's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the device.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Sensor Not Connecting/Functioning:
    • Ensure the sensor is correctly paired with your Energeeks alarm system. Refer to your alarm system's manual for pairing instructions.
    • Check the battery. Replace the CR2032 battery if it is low or depleted.
    • Verify the distance between the sensor and the alarm panel. Excessive distance or obstacles can interfere with the RF signal.
  • No Notifications Received:
    • Confirm that your mobile device has an active internet connection.
    • Check notification settings within the Energeeks app.
    • For PROTECT PLUS systems, ensure the alarm panel has a stable WiFi connection or cellular signal for SMS alerts.
  • False Alarms:
    • Ensure the sensor units are securely mounted and do not shift with vibrations.
    • Verify the alignment and gap between the main unit and the magnet. The gap should not exceed 1 cm when closed.
