3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all accessories are present:

  • 1 x XHDATA D608WB Emergency Radio
  • 1 x Rechargeable 18650 Battery
  • 1 x Type-C Charging Cable
  • 1 x Wrist Strap
  • 1 x English Manual (this document)

3.2 Battery Installation

Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the radio. Insert the provided 18650 rechargeable battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.3 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the radio using one of the following methods:

  • USB-C Charging: Connect the supplied Type-C cable to the radio's DC IN 5V port and a USB power adapter (not included) or computer USB port. The 'CHARGE' indicator light will illuminate.
  • Solar Charging: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. The 'CHARGE' indicator light will illuminate. Note that solar charging is slower and primarily for maintaining charge or emergency top-ups.
  • Hand Crank Charging: Extend the hand crank handle and rotate it clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace. The 'CHARGE' indicator light will illuminate. This method is for emergency power generation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER button (red button) to turn the radio on or off.

4.2 Radio Operation (FM/AM/SW/NOAA)

  • Band Selection: Press the BAND button to cycle through FM, AM (MW), Shortwave (SW), and NOAA Weather Band (WB).
  • Tuning: Use the tuning knob on the right side of the radio to manually adjust the frequency.
  • ATS Function: Long press the ATS button to automatically scan and store available stations.
  • NOAA Alert: Long press the ALERT button to enter NOAA automatic scanning warning alert state.

4.3 Bluetooth Mode

  • Pairing: In radio ON state, short press the M button to switch to Bluetooth mode (BT will appear on LCD). On your mobile device, search for "XHDATA D608WB" and pair.
  • Audio Playback: Once paired, you can stream audio from your device to the radio. Use the play/pause and track skip buttons on the radio.
  • Hands-free Calling: If a call comes in while connected via Bluetooth, you can answer/end calls using the play/pause button.

4.4 MP3 Player (TF Card)

Insert a TF (microSD) card with MP3 files into the TF card slot. The radio will automatically switch to MP3 playback mode. Use the play/pause and track skip buttons to control playback.

4.5 Lighting Functions

  • Flashlight: Short press the TORCH button to cycle through three brightness levels.
  • Reading Lamp: Short press the LAMP button to cycle through three brightness levels for the reading lamp.

4.6 SOS Alarm

Long press the SOS button to activate the emergency alarm. This will emit a loud siren and flash the red light. Long press again to deactivate.

4.7 Alarm Clock and Sleep Timer

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) and recharge every few months to maintain battery health.
  • Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If the radio will not be used for a long time, remove the battery.

6. Troubleshooting
