6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your kettle.

  1. Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
  3. Interior Cleaning: The interior of the glass carafe can be cleaned with a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  4. Filter Cleaning: The filter in the spout can be removed for cleaning. Rinse it under running water and gently brush away any deposits. Reinsert the filter securely after cleaning.
  5. Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or a commercial descaling solution. Bring to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy deposits. Discard the solution and rinse the kettle thoroughly several times with fresh water.
  6. Storage: When not in use, store the kettle in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your kettle, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Kettle does not turn on:
    • Ensure the kettle is properly seated on the power base.
    • Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Verify that the power switch is pressed down.
  • Kettle switches off before boiling:
    • This may indicate excessive limescale buildup. Perform a descaling procedure as described in the Maintenance section.
    • Ensure the kettle is filled above the MIN level.
  • Water has an unusual taste or odor:
    • For first-time use, ensure you have performed the initial cleaning steps (boiling and discarding water several times).
    • Descale the kettle if there is limescale buildup.
    • Ensure you are using fresh, clean water.
  • Steam escaping from areas other than the spout:
    • Check that the lid is securely closed.
    • Ensure the kettle is not overfilled beyond the MAX line.

If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.
