6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your HiBREW H1B coffee maker.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray after each use or when the indicator shows it's full.
  • Water Tank: Empty any remaining water from the tank and refill with fresh water daily. Clean the tank periodically with mild soap and water.
  • Adapters: After each use, remove the adapter and rinse it under running water. For coffee powder and reusable K-cup filters, discard used grounds and wash thoroughly.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the machine in water.

6.2 Descaling

Descaling is essential to remove mineral buildup and maintain brewing performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage, but generally every 2-3 months is recommended.

  1. Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaling agent).
  2. Fill Tank: Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
  3. Run Cycle: Place a large container under the dispenser. Run several brewing cycles (without coffee) until the water tank is empty.
  4. Rinse: Rinse the water tank thoroughly and refill with fresh water. Run several more cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
