5. Setup and Installation
This section outlines the general steps for installing and configuring the control board. Refer to your gate opener's specific wiring diagram for detailed connections.
5.1 Board Overview

Figure 1: Top view of the GeRRiT SW200D2S/SW200D1/SW200D2/SW200D2L control board, showing various components, terminals, and DIP switches. This image provides a general layout of the board for identification of connection points.
The control board features various terminals for motor connections, power input, safety devices, and accessories. It also includes DIP switches for configuration and buttons for programming.
5.2 Wiring Connections
Ensure all power is disconnected before making any wiring connections.
- Power Input: Connect the DC12V power supply to the designated terminals (e.g., +12V and GND). Observe polarity.
- Motor Connections: Connect the gate opener motors (M1, M2) to their respective terminals. Ensure correct wiring for opening and closing directions.
- Safety Devices: Connect photocells, safety edges, or other safety sensors to the appropriate input terminals (e.g., COM, O/C1, O/C2).
- Accessories: Connect warning lights (Warn), external antennas (ANT), or other accessories as required.
- Solar Power (Optional): The board may support solar power input. Connect solar panels to the SOLAR BAT terminals if applicable.

5.3 DIP Switch Configuration
The red DIP switches (visible in Figure 3) are used to configure various operating parameters of the control board. Consult the specific settings for your desired gate behavior.

Figure 3: View of the control board highlighting the red DIP switches. These switches are used to set various operational modes and parameters for the gate opener system.
| Switch No. | Function (Example) | ON Position | OFF Position |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Auto-close delay | Enabled | Disabled |
| 2 | Gate direction | Reverse | Normal |
| 3 | Single/Dual gate mode | Dual | Single |
| 4 | Soft start/stop | Enabled | Disabled |
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Remote Control Pairing
To pair a remote control with the gate opener system:
- Ensure the control board is powered on.
- Locate the "RF Learn" or "Code" button on the control board (often near the RF module, labeled RF1 or RF2).
- Press and hold the "RF Learn" button for approximately 2-3 seconds until an indicator light (e.g., LED1) illuminates or flashes.
- While the indicator light is active, press the desired button on your remote control. The indicator light should flash or change state to confirm successful pairing.
- Release the "RF Learn" button. Test the remote control to ensure it operates the gate.

Figure 4: The GeRRiT control board shown alongside a remote control. The remote is used to wirelessly operate the gate opener after successful pairing with the board.
Important: Remote controls require a 12V 27A battery (not included).
6.2 Basic Operation
- Open/Close: Press the programmed button on the remote control to initiate gate movement. A second press may stop the gate, and a third press may reverse its direction, depending on configuration.
- Manual Override: In case of power failure, the gate opener typically has a manual release mechanism. Refer to your gate opener's specific manual for instructions on how to manually disengage the motor.
- Safety Stop: If an obstacle is detected during gate movement, the gate will stop and reverse direction to prevent damage or injury.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your gate opener system.
- Inspect Wiring: Periodically check all wiring connections for signs of wear, corrosion, or loose terminals. Ensure they are secure.
- Clean Board: Keep the control board free from dust, moisture, and insects. Use a soft, dry brush or compressed air for cleaning.
- Remote Battery: Replace remote control batteries (12V 27A) as needed when the range decreases or the remote stops responding.
- Gate Mechanics: Ensure the gate itself is well-maintained, lubricated, and free from obstructions that could hinder movement.
- Safety Sensors: Regularly clean and test photocells and other safety sensors to ensure they are functioning correctly.
8. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues. For problems not listed here, contact technical support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Gate does not respond to remote. | Remote battery low/dead; remote not paired; signal interference. | Replace remote battery; re-pair remote control (Section 6.1); check for obstructions near antenna. |
| Gate opens but does not close. | Safety sensor (photocell) obstructed or misaligned; auto-close disabled. | Clear sensor path, align sensors; check DIP switch settings for auto-close function. |
| Gate reverses direction unexpectedly. | Obstruction detected; motor force setting too sensitive. | Remove obstruction; adjust motor force sensitivity (if available on board, refer to specific documentation). |
| No power to the board. | Power supply disconnected; fuse blown. | Check power connections; inspect and replace fuses if necessary. |
