- Prepare Faucet: For a secure, leak-proof connection, it is recommended to apply Teflon tape (plumber's tape) to the threads of your outdoor faucet.
- Attach Timer to Faucet: Screw the top connector of the timer onto your outdoor faucet. Hand-tighten only to avoid overtightening and damaging the threads.
- Connect Hose: Attach your garden hose or irrigation system to the bottom outlet of the timer. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.

Operating Instructions
Automatic Watering
The timer allows you to set a recurring watering schedule based on duration and frequency.
- Set Watering Duration (HOW LONG): Rotate the 'HOW LONG' dial to select the desired watering duration per cycle. Options typically range from 1 minute to 180 minutes.
- Set Watering Frequency (HOW OFTEN): Rotate the 'HOW OFTEN' dial to select how often the watering cycle should repeat. Options typically range from 1 hour to 1 week. If you want to water only once, set this dial to 'OFF' and use the 'DELAY' dial for a single start.
- Set Initial Delay (DELAY): Rotate the 'DELAY' dial to set an initial delay before the first watering cycle begins. This dial is used once to determine the start time of the first cycle relative to when you set the timer. Options typically range from 0 to 72 hours.
Example: To water for 30 minutes every 3 hours, starting at 10:00 AM if the current time is 9:00 AM:
- Set 'HOW LONG' to 30 minutes.
- Set 'HOW OFTEN' to 3 hours.
- Set 'DELAY' to 1 hour (to initiate the first cycle at 10:00 AM).
The green 'Auto' light will blink when the automatic program is running.

Manual Watering
To water immediately outside of the programmed schedule:
- Press the 'Manual' button once to open the valve and start watering. The manual indicator light will flash.
- Press the 'Manual' button again to close the valve and stop watering.
- Note: If the valve is not closed manually, it will automatically shut off after 4 hours.

Rain Delay
To temporarily pause your watering schedule due to rain or other reasons:
- Rotate the 'DELAY' dial to the desired delay duration (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 12, 24, 48, 72 hours).
- The timer will pause for the selected duration. After the delay period ends, the timer will automatically resume its previously programmed watering schedule.

Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: When the red 'Power' light blinks slowly, it indicates low battery. Replace the 2 AA alkaline batteries promptly. If the light blinks fast, the valve will close, and timed tasks will not execute.
- Filter Cleaning: Regularly check and clean the stainless steel filter located at the water inlet. Remove any debris or sediment to prevent blockages and ensure optimal water flow.
- Winter Storage: Before the first freeze, disconnect the timer from the faucet and hose. Drain any remaining water and store the timer indoors in a dry, protected area to prevent damage from freezing temperatures.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow | Low batteries; Faucet closed; Clogged filter; 'HOW LONG' dial set to 'OFF'. | Replace batteries; Open faucet fully; Clean inlet filter; Adjust 'HOW LONG' dial to a duration. |
| Leaking from connections | Loose connections; Missing/damaged washer; Improperly applied Teflon tape; Damaged threads. | Tighten connections; Check/replace rubber washer; Reapply Teflon tape; Inspect threads for damage. |
| Timer not activating | Dead/low batteries; Incorrect dial settings; 'DELAY' set too long. | Replace batteries; Verify 'HOW LONG', 'HOW OFTEN', and 'DELAY' settings; Adjust 'DELAY' as needed. |
| Manual mode not working | Button not pressed firmly; Valve automatically closed after 4 hours. | Press 'Manual' button firmly; Note that manual watering automatically stops after 4 hours. |
