Operating Instructions
Making Espresso
- Pre-heat: Ensure the machine is plugged in and powered on. Allow it to pre-heat for approximately 30 seconds until the indicator lights are solid.
- Prepare Ground Coffee: Use freshly ground espresso beans. For best results, grind coffee to a fine consistency. Fill the filter basket with the desired amount of ground coffee (single or double shot).
- Tamp Coffee: Use the included tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly into the filter basket. Proper tamping is crucial for optimal extraction pressure.
- Attach Portafilter: Insert the portafilter into the brew head and turn it firmly to the right until it is securely locked in place.
- Place Cup: Position your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts. Consider pre-warming your cups on the cup warmer area.
- Brew Espresso: Press the single shot or double shot button. The machine will begin brewing. Monitor the pressure gauge for optimal extraction (typically in the middle of the "Espresso Zone").
- Stop Brewing: The machine will automatically stop after a preset volume. You can also manually stop brewing by pressing the same button again.
- Remove Portafilter: Once brewing is complete, carefully remove the portafilter by turning it to the left. Dispose of the used coffee grounds.

Frothing Milk
- Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Activate Steam Function: Press the steam button on the control panel. The steam indicator light will flash and then become solid when the machine reaches steaming temperature.
- Purge Steam Wand: Before frothing, briefly open the steam knob to release any condensed water from the steam wand into the drip tray. Close the knob.
- Froth Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam knob. Angle the pitcher to create a swirling motion. As the milk heats and expands, lower the pitcher slightly to keep the tip near the surface for aeration.
- Monitor Temperature: Continue frothing until the milk reaches your desired temperature (typically 140-150°F or 60-65°C) and has a smooth, creamy texture.
- Stop Steaming: Close the steam knob and remove the pitcher.
- Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly open the steam knob again to purge any milk from inside the wand.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your espresso machine.
Daily Cleaning:
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under warm water.
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily or when the indicator floats up.
- Steam Wand: Always wipe the steam wand immediately after frothing milk and purge it to prevent milk residue buildup.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
Weekly Cleaning:
- Water Tank: Remove the water tank, empty any remaining water, and wash it with mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and refill with fresh water.
- Brew Head: Use a damp cloth to wipe the brew head area, removing any coffee grounds.
Descaling:
Descaling is essential to remove mineral buildup and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage, but generally every 2-3 months.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix a descaling solution (e.g., citric acid or commercial descaler) with water according to the product instructions. Fill the water tank with this solution.
- Run Descaling Cycle:
- Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
- Turn on the machine. Once heated, press the single shot button to run about half of the descaling solution through the brew head.
- Open the steam knob to run the remaining solution through the steam wand.
- Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Rinse Cycle: Empty and rinse the water tank thoroughly. Fill it with fresh, clean water. Run several full tanks of clean water through both the brew head and steam wand to rinse out any descaling solution.
