5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Water Detection and Alarm
The SINGCALL APE170 Water Leak Detector is equipped with multiple sensors to detect water presence:
- The alarm will sound immediately if two or more adjacent sensor feet at the bottom of the device detect water overflow.
- The alarm will also activate if the two water drop sensors located on the top of the device are covered with water.
Upon detection, the device will emit a loud alarm (up to 120dB). The first alarm sequence will last for 15 seconds. If the water is not removed from the sensors, the alarm will sound again for 2 seconds every 15 seconds until the sensors are dry or the alarm is manually stopped.

5.2 Stopping the Alarm
To stop the alarm:
- Remove the detector from the water source and dry the sensors completely. The alarm will cease once the sensors are dry.
- Alternatively, press the [TEST] button on the top of the detector to temporarily silence the alarm.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Regularly inspect the sensor feet and the top water drop sensors for any dirt, dust, or debris that might interfere with detection. Clean them gently with a soft, dry cloth.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery is low, the detector may emit a low battery warning (if applicable, refer to product specifications for specific low battery indicators). To replace the batteries:
- Use the opening tool to open the detector cover.
- Remove the old AAA batteries.
- Insert two new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the cover securely.
7. Troubleshooting
- Alarm not sounding when water is detected:
- Ensure the batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Check that the sensor feet or top sensors are making proper contact with the water.
- Verify that the device is not damaged.
- False alarms:
- Ensure the detector is placed on a completely dry surface.
- Clean the sensors to remove any moisture, dust, or debris that might be causing false readings.
