1. Introduction

The Romicta T-265 Digital Terrestrial Receiver is designed to provide high-quality digital television reception. It supports DVB-T2 and DVB-C standards with H.265 HEVC 10-bit decoding for Full HD 1080P video. This device offers a range of features including a USB 2.0 multimedia player, PVR recording capabilities, LCN for channel organization, and a 2-in-1 universal remote control for convenience.

This manual will guide you through the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new receiver to ensure an optimal viewing experience.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Front and Rear Panels

Familiarize yourself with the ports and buttons on your receiver.

  • Front Panel: POWER, MENU, CH+/-, VOL+/-, OK buttons, USB port, LED display.
  • Rear Panel: RF IN (Antenna Input), RF LOOP THROUGH (Antenna Output), COAXIAL (Digital Audio Output), HDMI (HD Video/Audio Output), TV (SCART Output), AC (Power Input).

3.2 Remote Control

The included 2-in-1 universal remote control allows you to operate both the receiver and your TV.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Connecting the Receiver

  1. Antenna Connection: Connect your terrestrial antenna cable to the RF IN port on the rear of the receiver. Ensure the antenna provides a complete and correct digital terrestrial signal.
  2. TV Connection (HDMI): For high-definition viewing, connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the receiver and the other end to an available HDMI input on your TV.
  3. TV Connection (SCART - for older TVs): If your TV does not have an HDMI port, connect a SCART cable from the TV (SCART) port on the receiver to the SCART input on your TV.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the AC input on the receiver, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.

4.2 Initial Setup

  1. Power On: Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI or SCART input source. Then, power on the receiver.
  2. Language and Country: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred language and country.
  3. Channel Scan: The receiver will automatically scan for available digital terrestrial channels. This process may take several minutes. Do not interrupt the scan.
  4. LCN (Logical Channel Numbering): The LCN function will organize channels in a logical order, making them easier to find.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic TV Viewing

  • Channel Selection: Use the CH+ / CH- buttons on the remote or front panel to change channels. You can also enter the channel number directly using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  • Volume Control: Use the VOL+ / VOL- buttons to adjust the volume.
  • Mute: Press the MUTE button on the remote to temporarily turn off the sound.

5.2 Electronic Program Guide (EPG)

Press the EPG button on the remote to view the Electronic Program Guide, which displays program schedules for the coming days.

5.3 Teletext and Subtitles

  • Teletext: Press the TEXT button to access teletext services (if available on the broadcast channel).
  • Subtitles: Press the SUB-T button to enable or disable subtitles for programs that support them.

5.4 YouTube Access

The receiver supports YouTube access. Ensure your device is connected to the internet (if applicable, via a compatible USB Wi-Fi dongle, not included) to use this feature. Navigate to the YouTube application via the main menu.

6. Media Playback and Recording (PVR)

6.1 USB Multimedia Player

Insert a USB 2.0 storage device (formatted in FAT32) into the USB port on the front panel. You can play various multimedia files including MP3, MP4, AVI, MKV, and JPEG.

  • Navigate to the Multimedia menu using the remote control.
  • Select the desired file type (Video, Music, Photo) and browse your USB device.
  • Press OK to play the selected file.

6.2 PVR Recording and Time Shift

The receiver supports PVR (Personal Video Recorder) functionality, allowing you to record TV programs onto a connected USB storage device (up to 4TB). It also features Time Shift, which lets you pause live TV.

  • Recording: While watching a program, press the REC button on the remote to start recording. Press STOP to end the recording.
  • Scheduled Recording: Use the EPG to schedule recordings of future programs.
  • Time Shift: Press the PAUSE button during live TV to activate Time Shift. Press PLAY to resume from where you paused.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following common solutions before contacting support.

No picture or sound
  • Ensure all cables (HDMI/SCART, antenna, power) are securely connected.
  • Check if the TV is set to the correct input source (HDMI 1, AV, etc.).
  • Verify the power adapter is plugged in and the receiver is turned on.
"No Signal" message
  • Check antenna connection and ensure the antenna is properly positioned.
  • Perform a new channel scan from the menu.
  • Ensure your antenna is compatible with DVB-T2 signals.
Remote control not working
  • Check and replace batteries if necessary.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver's IR sensor.
  • Point the remote directly at the receiver.
USB device not recognized
  • Ensure the USB device is formatted to FAT32.
  • Try a different USB port or device.
  • The device may require external power if it's a large HDD.
