5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- For the Crane Scale: Locate the battery compartment on the back of the scale. Open the cover and insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery cover securely.
- For the Remote Controller: Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote. Open the cover and insert 2 AAA batteries, observing correct polarity. Close the battery cover securely.
5.2 Initial Power On
Press the POWER button on the scale or the remote controller to turn on the device. The LCD screen will illuminate and display a self-test sequence before showing "0.0" or a small negative value, indicating it is ready for use.
5.3 Unit Selection
To switch between kilograms (kg) and pounds (lb), press the UNIT button on the scale or the remote controller. The selected unit will be displayed on the screen.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Weighing Procedure
- Ensure the scale is powered on and displays "0.0".
- Securely attach the item to be weighed to the bottom hook of the crane scale. Ensure the anti-release hook locking piece is engaged.
- Lift the scale steadily. The weight will be displayed on the LCD screen. Wait for the reading to stabilize (indicated by 'S' on the display) before recording the measurement.

6.2 Tare and Zero Functions
- Tare: To weigh items in a container, first hang the empty container on the hook. Press the TARE/ZERO button. The display will reset to "0.0". Then, add the items to the container. The scale will display only the net weight of the items.
- Zero: If the display does not show "0.0" when nothing is on the hook, press the TARE/ZERO button to reset it to zero.
6.3 Remote Control Operation
The remote controller allows for convenient operation from a distance of approximately 20 meters (65.62 ft). Functions include power on/off, unit switching, tare, and zero. Refer to the remote controller's specific button layout for detailed functions.
6.4 Backlight and Auto-off Settings
- Backlight: Adjust the backlight time (5s, 15s, 30s, 60s, on/off) and brightness levels (1-5) via the scale's control panel or remote settings to optimize visibility and battery life.
- Auto-off: Set the auto-off timing (0, 5min, 10min, 30min, 60min) to automatically power off the scale after a period of inactivity, conserving battery power. "0" disables auto-off.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. Ensure the scale is dry before storage or next use.
7.2 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD screen. Always use new batteries of the specified type (AA for scale, AAA for remote) and dispose of old batteries responsibly.
7.3 Storage
Store the crane scale in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage.
7.4 Hook Inspection
Regularly inspect the top shackle and bottom hook for any signs of wear, damage, or deformation. Ensure the anti-release locking mechanism functions correctly. Do not use the scale if any part of the hook or shackle is compromised.
