5. Setup and Operating Instructions

Initial Setup:

  1. Plug the G-Homa timer into a grounded outdoor electrical outlet.
  2. Ensure the timer is mounted vertically at least 2 feet above the ground to prevent water accumulation and ensure proper sensor function.
  3. Connect your outdoor lights or electrical appliances to the two grounded outlets on the timer.

Selecting a Mode:

The timer features a rotary dial for selecting different operating modes. There are two methods for switching modes:

  • Method 1 (Immediate Response): If the timer has just been plugged in or re-energized (within the first 5 minutes), simply rotate the dial to your desired mode. The timer will respond immediately.
  • Method 2 (Delayed Response): If the timer has been energized for more than 5 minutes, rotate the dial to the desired mode, then wait approximately 40 seconds for the mode change to take effect.

The "ON/OFF" mode is not affected by the 40-second waiting period and responds immediately.

Available Modes:

  • ON (Continuous): Devices remain continuously powered.
  • OFF (Deactivates Timers): Devices remain continuously off.
  • DUSK-DAWN: Devices turn ON automatically at dusk and OFF at dawn. Ensure the photocell sensor is not obstructed and is away from artificial light sources.
  • 2H / 4H / 6H / 8H (Countdown): Devices turn ON at dusk and remain ON for the selected duration (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours), then turn OFF. During daytime, there is no output in these modes. If exposed to other light sources for 40 seconds, the countdown will stop; it will restart from the beginning when returning to a dark state.

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect the timer and connected cords for any signs of damage or wear.
  • Keep the photocell sensor clean and free from dirt, debris, or snow to ensure accurate light detection. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure the protective cover over the dial is properly closed when not making adjustments to maintain weather resistance.
  • Store the timer in a dry, protected area when not in use for extended periods.

7. Troubleshooting

If your G-Homa timer is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

  • Issue: When switching modes, the corresponding mode does not work immediately.
Solution: If the timer has been energized for more than 5 minutes, you need to wait for more than 40 seconds after rotating the dial for the mode to respond. For modes that rely on the light sensor (DUSK-DAWN, 2H/4H/6H/8H), cover the light sensor hole with your finger during this 40-second wait to simulate darkness and help the mode switch take effect successfully.
  • Issue: All settings are correct, but the timer is not working.
Solution: Unplug the timer from the power supply. Reset the mode by rotating the dial to the desired setting. Cover the light sensor hole with your finger and plug the timer back in. Also, check if the timer is too close to an artificial light source that might interfere with the light sensor.
  • Issue: The light sensor does not seem to be working correctly.
Solution: Ensure the light sensor is facing natural sunlight and is not obstructed by objects or exposed to direct artificial light sources (e.g., a porch light) that could prevent it from accurately detecting dusk or dawn. If the timer is near an artificial light source, try relocating it or shielding the sensor from that light.
