3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Connecting the Receiver (RX)

  1. Connect the HDMI connector of the Receiver (RX) to an available HDMI input port on your TV, monitor, or projector.
  2. Connect the USB cable from the Receiver (RX) to a USB port (5V/1A) on your display device or a separate USB power adapter for power. Ensure the RX unit powers on (indicated by an LED light).

3.2 Connecting the Transmitter (TX)

  1. Connect the HDMI connector of the Transmitter (TX) to the HDMI output port of your source device (e.g., laptop, PC, TV Box, PS4/5).
  2. Connect the USB cable from the Transmitter (TX) to a USB port (5V/1A) on your source device or a separate USB power adapter for power. Ensure the TX unit powers on (indicated by an LED light).

3.3 Automatic Pairing and Mirroring

Once both the Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) are powered on and connected, they will automatically attempt to pair. Wait a few seconds until the flashing light on the transmitter stops, indicating a successful connection. The content from your source device will then automatically mirror onto your display.

4. Operating Modes

The EDUP Wireless HDMI Extender supports two primary display modes:

4.1 Mirror Mode

In Mirror Mode, the content displayed on your source device's screen is duplicated onto the larger display (TV/monitor/projector). This provides an identical visual output on both screens.

4.2 Extend Mode

Extend Mode expands your desktop workspace, allowing you to have different content displayed on each screen. This enhances productivity and multitasking capabilities, as you can drag windows between your source device and the external display. (Note: Extend mode functionality requires your computer to support this feature.)

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Signal / Intermittent Connection

  • Power Supply: Ensure both the Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) are adequately powered by connecting them to a stable 5V/2A USB power source. Insufficient power is a common cause of connection issues.
  • Obstacles: The wireless signal can be affected by physical obstacles such as walls, furniture, and even human bodies. For optimal performance, maintain a clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver.
  • Distance: While rated for up to 165FT/50M in open environments, the effective range can be significantly reduced in environments with interference or obstacles. Try reducing the distance between the units.
  • Interference: Other 5GHz wireless devices (like Wi-Fi routers) can cause interference. Try to minimize other wireless activity in the area or adjust the placement of the units.
  • Re-pairing: If the connection is lost or unstable, try re-pairing the units. Refer to the user manual for specific re-pairing instructions, which often involve pressing a reset button on both units.

7.2 Image Quality Issues (Flickering, Grainy)

  • Resolution Mismatch: Ensure your source device's output resolution is compatible with the receiver and display. The system supports up to 1080P@60Hz.
  • Signal Strength: Poor signal strength due to distance or obstacles can degrade image quality. Try moving the units closer or ensuring a clear line of sight.
  • HDMI Cable/Port: Ensure the HDMI connections are secure and the cables/ports are not damaged.

7.3 No Audio

  • Source Audio: Verify that the audio is working correctly on your source device when connected directly to a display.
  • Display Audio Settings: Check the audio input settings on your TV/monitor to ensure the correct HDMI input is selected and audio is not muted.
