3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your Carrera Spidey 2.9 Race Track.

  1. Prepare a Flat Surface: Choose a clean, flat, and stable surface for track assembly. Ensure there is enough space for the entire track layout.
  2. Connect Track Sections: Carefully connect the track sections by aligning the connectors and pressing them firmly together. Refer to the track layout diagram on the packaging or in the included leaflet for the recommended configuration.
  3. Install Power Connection Track: Integrate the power connection track section into your layout. This section has ports for the speed controllers and the battery box.
  4. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the power connection track (or separate battery box, if applicable) and insert the required batteries (typically C or D size, not included). Ensure correct polarity.
  5. Connect Speed Controllers: Plug the speed controllers into the designated ports on the power connection track.
  6. Prepare Slot Cars: Ensure the guide keels are properly inserted into the bottom of each slot car. Check that the contact brushes are clean and positioned correctly to make contact with the track's power rails.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the track is assembled and powered, you are ready to race!

  1. Place Cars on Track: Carefully place each slot car into its designated slot on the track. Ensure the guide keel is fully seated in the track groove and the contact brushes are touching the metal power rails.
  2. Start Racing: Use the speed controllers to accelerate your car. Press the trigger to increase speed and release to slow down. Practice controlling your car's speed to navigate curves without derailing.
  3. Utilize Track Features: Some track sets include special features like "flip-elements" or narrow sections for interactive play. Experiment with these features to enhance your racing experience.
  4. Stopping the Race: To stop the race, simply release the speed controller triggers. To power off the track, remove the batteries from the power connection track.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your race track.

  • Cleaning Track: Periodically wipe down the track surface and metal power rails with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using water or cleaning agents.
  • Cleaning Car Contacts: Ensure the contact brushes on the bottom of the slot cars are clean and free from lint or hair. Gently adjust them if they appear bent or worn.
  • Replacing Guide Keels and Contacts: If a car frequently derails or loses power, the guide keel or contact brushes may be worn. Replace them with the provided spare parts or genuine Carrera replacements. Refer to the car's underside for replacement instructions.
  • Battery Replacement: When cars slow down or stop responding, it's time to replace the batteries in the power connection track. Always use fresh batteries of the specified type and dispose of old batteries responsibly.
  • Storage: When not in use, disassemble the track and store all components in their original packaging or a suitable container to protect them from dust and damage.
