4. Setup
4.1 Workbench Mounting
The miter saw is suitable for fixed workbench mounting to ensure stability during operation. Fastening material is not included. Use appropriate bolts and nuts to secure the saw to a sturdy workbench through the designated mounting holes on the base.
4.2 Dust Collection Bag Attachment
Attach the provided dust collection bag to the dust extraction port located at the rear of the saw. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent dust leakage. For enhanced dust management, the saw can also be connected to an external dust extraction system.
4.3 Initial Blade Check
The saw blade comes pre-assembled. Before first use, ensure the blade is securely tightened and free from damage. Refer to section 6.1 for instructions on changing the saw blade if necessary.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power Connection
Connect the power cord to a standard 230 Volt (AC) electrical outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position before plugging in the tool.
5.2 Adjusting Tilt Angle
The saw head can be continuously tilted from 0° to 45°. Loosen the tilt adjustment knob, set the desired angle using the angle scale, and then securely tighten the knob.
5.3 Adjusting Miter Angle
The miter angle can be adjusted continuously from -45° to +45°, or set to fixed angles. Release the miter lock, rotate the turntable to the desired angle, and then re-engage the lock.
5.4 Workpiece Fixation
Always use the clamping device and side support brackets to securely fix the workpiece before making a cut. This prevents movement during operation and ensures precise results.
5.5 Making a Cut
- Ensure the workpiece is properly secured and the desired angles are set.
- Switch on the saw using the power switch. Allow the blade to reach full speed (5000 RPM) before beginning the cut.
- Slowly lower the saw blade into the workpiece, applying steady, even pressure.
- Once the cut is complete, allow the blade to stop rotating before raising the saw head.
- Disconnect the power when finished or before leaving the tool unattended.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your miter saw. Always disconnect the power plug before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Saw Blade Change
To change the saw blade:
- Disconnect the saw from the power supply.
- Use the provided tool to loosen the saw blade retaining bolt.
- Carefully remove the old blade, noting its rotation direction.
- Install the new blade, ensuring the teeth are oriented correctly for cutting.
- Securely tighten the retaining bolt with the tool.
6.2 Carbon Brush Replacement
The motor uses carbon brushes that wear over time. Replace them when they are worn down to approximately 6mm or if the motor performance decreases. Two replacement carbon brushes are included.
6.3 Cleaning
After each use, clean the saw from dust and debris using a brush or compressed air. Do not use water or solvents. Regularly empty the dust collection bag.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Saw does not start | No power supply; Faulty power cord; Worn carbon brushes | Check power connection; Inspect power cord for damage; Replace carbon brushes (see 6.2) |
| Reduced cutting performance | Dull or damaged saw blade; Incorrect blade for material | Replace saw blade (see 6.1); Ensure correct blade type is used |
| Excessive vibration/noise | Loose saw blade; Damaged blade; Loose mounting bolts | Tighten saw blade; Replace damaged blade; Check and tighten mounting bolts |
