1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your LED Line Prime T8 LED Tube. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and retain them for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Always disconnect power before installation, replacement, or maintenance.
  • Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes.
  • Do not use this product in environments with extreme temperatures or high humidity unless specifically rated for such conditions.
  • Ensure the fixture is compatible with T8 LED tubes and the specified voltage (220-240V).
  • Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the LED tube.
  • Handle the glass tube with care to prevent breakage.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present and undamaged upon opening the package.

4. Setup and Installation

This LED tube is designed to replace traditional T8 fluorescent tubes. It requires either single-sided or dual-sided power connection. Ensure your fixture is compatible and wired correctly.

4.1. Converting a Fluorescent Fixture

  1. Disconnect Power: Turn off the main power supply to the fixture at the circuit breaker.
  2. Remove Old Tube and Starter: Carefully remove the existing fluorescent tube and its starter from the fixture.
  3. Install LED Starter: Insert the provided LED starter/fuse into the starter socket.
  4. Install LED Tube: Insert the LED Line Prime T8 tube into the fixture's lamp holders. Ensure it is securely seated.
  5. Reconnect Power: Restore power and test the LED tube.

Note: For fixtures with electronic ballasts, the ballast must be bypassed or removed, and the fixture rewired for direct AC input. Consult a qualified electrician for this procedure.

4.2. Wiring Diagrams (Direct AC Input)

The following diagrams illustrate the correct wiring for direct AC input (bypassing the ballast). This tube supports both single-sided and dual-sided power connections.

Wiring diagrams for single-sided and dual-sided power connections for LED T8 tubes

Figure 3: Wiring diagrams showing both single-sided and dual-sided power connections for the LED T8 tube. For single-sided power, both Live (L) and Neutral (N) connect to one end of the tube. For dual-sided power, Live (L) connects to one end and Neutral (N) to the other end.

  • Single-Sided Power: Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from the 230V AC supply to the pins on one end of the LED tube. The other end of the tube remains unconnected to power.
  • Dual-Sided Power: Connect the Live (L) wire from the 230V AC supply to the pins on one end of the LED tube, and the Neutral (N) wire to the pins on the opposite end of the LED tube.

Always ensure proper insulation and secure connections to prevent electrical hazards.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed correctly and power is supplied, the LED Line Prime T8 tube will illuminate instantly. There are no specific operating controls for the tube itself; its function is controlled by the fixture's power switch.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth to wipe the surface of the tube. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the tube and connections for any signs of damage or wear. If any damage is observed, disconnect power and replace the tube.
  • Replacement: When the tube reaches the end of its lifespan, disconnect power and replace it with a new LED Line Prime T8 LED tube of the same specifications.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Tube does not light up:
    • Check if the power supply is connected and switched on.
    • Ensure the LED tube is correctly seated in the lamp holders.
    • Verify that the LED starter is correctly installed (if converting a fluorescent fixture).
    • If the fixture had an electronic ballast, ensure it has been bypassed or removed and the fixture is wired for direct AC input.
    • Check for loose wiring connections.
  • Flickering:
    • Ensure stable power supply.
    • Verify correct wiring and connections.
    • Ensure the LED tube is fully compatible with the fixture's wiring.

If problems persist, consult a qualified electrician or contact customer support.
