5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your leaf blower.

Periodic Maintenance:

  • Air Filter Cleaning/Replacement: Clean the air filter regularly (more often in dusty conditions). Wash foam filters with warm, soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry completely before re-oiling lightly. Replace paper filters when heavily soiled.
  • Spark Plug Inspection/Replacement: Inspect the spark plug for wear or carbon buildup. Clean or replace as needed. Refer to the specifications for the correct spark plug type and gap.
  • Fuel Filter: Check and replace the fuel filter periodically to ensure clean fuel delivery to the carburetor.
  • Cooling Fins: Keep the engine's cooling fins clean to prevent overheating.
  • General Fasteners: Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and screws for tightness and tighten as necessary.

Storage:

When storing the blower for an extended period, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. This prevents fuel degradation and carburetor issues.
