Setup and Installation
Important: This system requires professional installation. The following steps are for informational purposes only and should be performed by a qualified technician.
- Prepare the Installation Area: Use the provided template to mark locations for the line set wall hole and the mini split bracket.
- Mount the Indoor Unit Bracket: Securely attach the mini split bracket to the wall using the provided screws. Ensure the bracket is properly leveled.
- Route Line Set and Electricals: Run the line set, drain hose, and electrical wiring through the wall opening.
- Mount Indoor Unit: Securely mount the mini split indoor unit onto the bracket.
- Tape Connections: Tape the drain hose and line sets together for a neat and organized installation. Use zip ties to secure electrical wires around the taped line sets and drain hose.
- Position Outdoor Condenser: Place the outdoor condenser unit in its designated location.
- Connect Line Set to Condenser: Remove electrical port and valve covers. Connect the unit line set to the condenser line set and tighten down firmly. If available, use a digital torque wrench to verify secure tightening.
- Electrical Connections: Connect the red power cable to the lower L2 power block on the condenser, the black power cable to the lower L1 power block, and the green ground cable to the condenser. Ensure each wire is connected to its correlating number and letter on the wire block.
- Vacuum and Refrigerant: Ensure you have the appropriate vacuum equipment. Connect the hose from the outdoor condenser unit to the gauge. Properly connect the hose from the vacuum to the gauge. Open valves on the gauge and activate the vacuum. Monitor the micron reading closely and close valves once it reaches 350. Turn off the vacuum pump.
- Activate Unit: Restore power to the outlet. Turn the mini split unit on and set it to the lowest cold setting. Allow a few minutes for the outdoor condenser fan to start.
- Open Valves: Use a service wrench and slowly open the High Side (Top Valve). Monitor the gauge as numbers will drop into the negative (this is expected). After opening the High Side valve, quickly open the Low Side (Bottom Valve).
