1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your ALIENTEK T80/T80P Smart Soldering Iron Kit. The T80 and T80P are advanced, portable digital soldering irons featuring fast heating, precise temperature control, and a clear OLED display. Designed for various soldering tasks, these tools support PD/QC fast charging protocols via a Type-C interface and offer adjustable heating power up to 100W.
Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device to ensure proper function and safety.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Soldering irons operate at high temperatures and can cause severe burns and fire hazards. Always exercise extreme caution.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, when operating the soldering iron.
- Ensure adequate ventilation in your workspace to avoid inhaling solder fumes.
- Never touch the soldering iron tip or heating element when the device is powered on or hot.
- Place the soldering iron in its stand when not in use. Do not lay it on flammable surfaces.
- Keep the soldering iron away from children and pets.
- Use only compatible power supplies and accessories. A 100W+ power supply is recommended for optimal performance.
- Disconnect the power supply when changing tips or performing maintenance.
- Do not use the soldering iron in wet conditions or near flammable liquids or gases.
- If the device appears damaged, do not operate it. Contact support for assistance.

4.1 Key Differences Between T80 and T80P
| Feature | T80 | T80P |
|---|---|---|
| Heating Core Type | T80-xx | T80P-xx |
| Heating Core Size | L80mm Ø3.5mm | L98mm Ø4.5mm |
| Resistance Value | 2.1Ω | 2.5Ω |
| Machine Weight | 38.5g | 42.8g |
| Tinning Time (at 100W) | 2 seconds | 5 seconds |
5. Setup
5.1 Installing the Soldering Tip
- Ensure the soldering iron is disconnected from any power source and is cool to the touch.
- Carefully insert the desired soldering tip into the heating element receptacle until it is firmly seated. Do not force the tip.
- Ensure the tip is fully inserted to ensure proper heat transfer.
5.2 Connecting Power
- Connect the provided USB Type-C to Type-C cable to the Type-C port on the soldering iron.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible PD/QC fast charge power adapter. For optimal performance and fast heating, a power adapter capable of delivering 100W (e.g., 20V/5A) is highly recommended. The device supports a working voltage range of 9V to 20V.
- The OLED screen will illuminate upon successful power connection, indicating the current status.
Note: The host does not contain a battery and requires an external power supply for use. It is normal for fast charging heads to have induced electricity. If you are sensitive to induced electricity, it is recommended to use it with a power bank.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
- The soldering iron powers on automatically when connected to a suitable power source.
- To power off, simply disconnect the Type-C power cable.
6.2 Temperature Adjustment
Use the control buttons (Key A and Key B) to adjust the target temperature. The OLED screen will display the current and target temperatures.

6.3 Power Fine-Tuning
The device offers 6 power gears for fine-tuning the current to achieve precise power adjustment (18W to 100W).

Image 6.2: Display showing the 6 available power gears (100W, 65W, 36W, 24W, 27W, 18W) and instructions for power fine-tuning.
Steps for Power Fine-Tuning:
- Enter the power fine-tuning interface.
- Press Key A or Key B to select the adjustment item.
- Long press Key B to select, short press to adjust, long press Key A to exit.
- Select OK and press and hold Key B to save your settings.
Note: The T80 will show initial temperature fluctuations when using a new heating core. Temperature stability will improve after several uses.

6.4 Induced Dormancy (Auto Sleep)
The soldering iron features an intelligent induction design that automatically enters hibernation mode when put down, prolonging the life of the heating core and saving energy. It will wake up when picked up.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning the Soldering Tip
- Regularly clean the soldering tip using a damp sponge or brass wool to remove excess solder and oxidation.
- After cleaning, apply a small amount of fresh solder to the tip (tinning) to prevent oxidation and prolong its lifespan.
- Ensure the tip is tinned before storing the iron.
7.2 General Cleaning
- Ensure the device is unplugged and cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the body of the soldering iron with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Keep the Type-C port free of dust and debris.
7.3 Tip Replacement
Soldering tips are consumable items and will eventually wear out. Replace tips when they become excessively pitted, corroded, or no longer hold solder effectively. Ensure the iron is cool and unplugged before replacing tips.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
