Introduction

The JBL Go 4 is an ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker designed for on-the-go audio. It features JBL Pro Sound with enhanced bass, a durable waterproof and dustproof design, and a built-in battery offering extended playtime. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your JBL Go 4 speaker.

Setup

1. Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge your JBL Go 4. Connect the supplied Type-C to Type-A charging cable to the speaker's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

2. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button located on the side of the speaker to turn it on or off. A sound indicator will confirm the action.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Turn on the JBL Go 4.
  2. Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker. The LED indicator will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  3. On your device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), navigate to the Bluetooth settings and select "JBL Go 4" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once connected, the Bluetooth LED will remain solid.

Operating the Speaker

Basic Controls

Multi-Speaker Connection (Auracast)

For a larger sound experience, you can connect multiple JBL Auracast-enabled speakers. Press the Auracast button on your JBL Go 4, then press the Auracast button on other compatible JBL speakers to link them wirelessly.

Playtime Boost

To extend battery life by up to 2 additional hours, activate the Playtime Boost feature. Refer to the JBL Portable app for specific instructions on enabling this feature.

Waterproof and Dustproof Usage

The JBL Go 4 has an IP67 rating, making it waterproof and dustproof. It can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed before exposing the speaker to water or dust.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the speaker, gently wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the speaker with fresh water and allow it to air dry completely before charging.

Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the speaker frequently. Store the speaker in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods. Charge the battery at least once every three months to maintain optimal performance.
