1. Important Safety Instructions
Please read all safety instructions carefully before operating the BAKON BK601S Soldering Station. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Always work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling solder fumes.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, to protect against splashes of molten solder.
- The soldering iron tip can reach temperatures up to 896°F (480°C). Avoid direct contact with the tip and allow it to cool completely before handling or storing.
- Use the provided soldering iron stand to safely rest the iron when not in use.
- Ensure the power cord is undamaged and properly connected to a grounded 110V AC outlet.
- Do not operate the soldering station near flammable materials or liquids.
- Keep children and pets away from the work area.
- Disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or changing tips.
2. Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in the package:

3. Setup Instructions
- Placement: Place the soldering station on a stable, heat-resistant, and well-ventilated surface.
- Connect Soldering Iron: Insert the soldering iron's connector securely into the designated port on the front of the soldering station unit.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the back of the soldering station and then plug it into a standard US 110V grounded electrical outlet.
- Prepare Stand: Position the soldering iron stand conveniently within your workspace. Ensure the cleaning sponge is moistened (not saturated) with water before use, or use the brass tip cleaner.
- Install Solder Wire: If desired, place the solder wire spool onto the integrated tin wire rack.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button (usually located on the front panel) for approximately 3-4 seconds to turn the unit ON or OFF. The digital display will illuminate upon power-on.
4.2 Temperature Adjustment
The soldering station features an adjustable temperature range from 356°F to 896°F (180°C to 480°C). Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons on the control panel to increase or decrease the desired temperature. The display will show the set temperature and the current tip temperature.

4.3 °C/°F Conversion
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature displays, refer to the manual's specific button combination, often involving a long press of a specific button or a menu setting. The digital display will update accordingly.

4.4 Preset Modes (CH1, CH2, CH3)
The BK601S features three programmable preset channels (CH1, CH2, CH3) to store frequently used temperature settings. To set a preset:
- Adjust the temperature to your desired value using the UP/DOWN buttons.
- Press and hold the desired channel button (CH1, CH2, or CH3) until the display indicates the temperature has been saved.
- To recall a preset, simply press the corresponding channel button (CH1, CH2, or CH3) once.

4.5 Sleep Mode & Auto Wake
The soldering station includes an automatic standby and sleep mode to conserve energy and prolong the lifespan of the soldering iron tip. If the iron is placed in its stand and remains inactive for a user-defined period (typically 60-600 seconds), the unit will automatically reduce the tip temperature to a lower, safer setting (sleep mode).
To exit sleep mode, simply pick up the soldering iron from its stand. The unit will automatically detect movement and rapidly return to the last set operating temperature.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Soldering Tip Cleaning
- Wet Sponge: Lightly wipe the hot soldering tip on the moistened sponge to remove excess solder and oxidation. Ensure the sponge is damp, not soaking wet, to avoid thermal shock to the tip.
- Brass Wire Ball: For more stubborn oxidation or to clean the tip thoroughly, gently rub the hot tip against the brass wire ball in the tip cleaner. This method is effective without significantly lowering tip temperature.
5.2 Soldering Tip Replacement
Always ensure the soldering iron is powered off and has cooled down before attempting to change tips.
- Unscrew the retaining nut or sleeve on the soldering iron handle.
- Carefully pull out the old tip.
- Insert the new tip, ensuring it is fully seated.
- Securely tighten the retaining nut or sleeve.

5.3 General Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the soldering station with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquids enter the unit.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your BAKON BK601S Soldering Station.
- Unit Does Not Power On:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the station and the wall outlet.
- Verify the wall outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
- Ensure the power button is pressed and held for the required duration (3-4 seconds).
- "H-E" Error Displayed:
This error typically indicates a heating element short circuit or failure.
- Power off the unit and disconnect it from the mains.
- Carefully inspect the soldering iron cable and connector for any visible damage.
- Ensure the soldering iron connector is fully and securely inserted into the station's port. A loose connection can sometimes trigger this error.
- If the issue persists, the heating element or soldering iron may need replacement. Contact customer support.
- "S-E" Error Displayed:
This error indicates a sensor abnormality.
- Power off the unit and disconnect it from the mains.
- Check the soldering iron connection for looseness.
- If the error continues, the temperature sensor within the soldering iron may be faulty. Contact customer support.
- Temperature Not Stable or Not Reaching Set Temperature:
- Ensure the soldering iron tip is clean and properly tinned.
- Verify the soldering iron is fully connected to the station.
- Check for any damage to the soldering iron cable.
