5. Setup
5.1 Placement
Place the projector on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the projector for proper ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
5.2 Connecting Power
- Connect the power cord to the AC IN port on the rear of the projector.
- Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
5.3 Connecting Video Sources
The SP224 projector offers multiple connectivity options:
- HDMI: Use an HDMI cable to connect your computer, Blu-ray player, or game console to one of the HDMI ports (HDMI 1 or HDMI 2).
- VGA: Connect a VGA cable from your computer's VGA output to the VGA IN port on the projector.
- USB-A: For direct projection from a PC or MacBook, connect a USB cable to the USB-A port. This port also provides 5V 1.5A power for external devices.
- S-Video: Connect an S-Video cable for older video sources.
5.4 Connecting Audio
If your video source does not transmit audio via HDMI, or if you are using VGA/S-Video, connect an audio cable from your source's audio output to the Audio In port on the projector. You can also connect external speakers to the Audio Out port.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- Power On: Press the power button on the projector's control panel or remote control. The power indicator light will turn steady blue.
- Power Off: Press the power button again. A confirmation message may appear. Press the power button a second time to confirm shutdown. Allow the projector to cool down before unplugging.
6.2 Input Source Selection
Press the "Source" button on the control panel or remote control to cycle through available input sources (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, VGA, USB, S-Video). Alternatively, use the dedicated input buttons if available.
6.3 Image Adjustment
- Focus: Rotate the focus ring on the projector lens until the image is sharp and clear.
- Zoom: Adjust the zoom ring on the projector lens to change the size of the projected image.
- Keystone Correction: If the image appears trapezoidal, use the keystone correction function (usually found in the OSD menu) to square the image.
- Image Shift/Edge Masking: Access these advanced digital image correction features through the projector's On-Screen Display (OSD) menu for fine-tuning image alignment and borders.
6.4 3D Functionality
To view 3D content, ensure your source device (e.g., 3D Blu-ray player, compatible game console) is connected and outputting 3D signals. The projector will automatically detect the 3D format. Active 3D glasses (sold separately) are required for viewing.
6.5 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu
Press the "Menu" button on the control panel or remote to access the OSD menu. Use the arrow keys to navigate and the "Enter" or "OK" button to select options. Adjust settings such as picture mode, aspect ratio, audio, and advanced display options.
