This battery features an integrated 100A Battery Management System (BMS) and low-temperature cut-off protection, designed for deep cycle applications.
2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the battery and connected equipment:
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Do not expose the battery to fire or extreme heat.
- Do not immerse the battery in water or other liquids.
- Use only compatible chargers designed for LiFePO4 batteries.
- Ensure proper ventilation during charging and discharging.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- This battery is designed for energy storage, not for starting engines or golf carts.
- When using screw terminals, add gaskets if the thickness is less than 2 mm to prevent loosening or overheating.
For detailed safety information, refer to the official safety document: Safety Information (PDF).
3. Product Features
- Advanced 100A BMS: Supports peak currents up to 500A for 1 second, providing protection against low temperature, overcharge, high temperature, over-discharge, overcurrent, and short circuits.
- Grade A LiFePO4 Cells: Ensures a long lifespan of up to 10 years and 4000+ cycles at 100% Depth of Discharge (DOD), 6000 cycles at 80% DOD, and 15000 cycles at 60% DOD.
- Integrated Low-Temperature Protection: The BMS automatically stops charging if cell temperature drops below 0°C (32°F) and resumes above 5°C (41°F). Discharge is cut off below -20°C (-4°F).
- Lightweight Design: Weighs only 11 kg (24.25 lbs), approximately 1/3 the weight of comparable lead-acid batteries.
- Expandable Capacity: Can be connected in 4S4P configuration to achieve 48V (51.2V) 400Ah, totaling 20.48 kWh.
- IP65 Water Resistance: Provides protection against dust and low-pressure water jets.

4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully unpack the battery and inspect for any visible damage. The package should include:
- 1x Power Queen 12.8V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery (Low-Temp model)
- 1x User Manual (this document)
- 2x M8 - 5/8" (16MM) Terminal Bolts
- 2x Insulating Caps for Terminal Bolts
4.2 Connection
Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated. Use appropriate cable gauges for your application to prevent overheating. The battery terminals are M8 size.
- Single Battery Connection: Connect the positive (+) terminal to the positive load/charger and the negative (-) terminal to the negative load/charger.
- Parallel Connection (for increased capacity): Connect positive to positive and negative to negative terminals of multiple batteries. Ensure all batteries are at a similar state of charge before connecting in parallel.
- Series Connection (for increased voltage): Connect the positive terminal of one battery to the negative terminal of the next. For example, two 12.8V batteries in series create a 25.6V system. Up to 4 batteries can be connected in series (4S) and up to 4 parallel strings (4P) for a maximum configuration of 4S4P (51.2V 400Ah).

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Charging
Use a LiFePO4 compatible charger with a recommended charging voltage of 14.4V - 14.6V. The integrated BMS will protect against overcharging and low-temperature charging.
- Recommended Chargers: 14.6V 20A AC-DC Charger, Solar Panel + MPPT controller, Alternator + 40A DC-DC Charger, or Generator + 14.6V 20A AC-DC Charger.
- Charging Temperature: The BMS will stop charging if the battery temperature falls below 0°C (32°F) and resume when it rises above 5°C (41°F).

5.2 Discharging
The battery is suitable for various deep cycle applications such as trolling motors, RVs, solar systems, and marine use.
- Continuous Discharge Current: Up to 100A.
- Peak Discharge Current: Up to 500A for 1 second.
- Discharge Temperature: The BMS will cut off discharge if the battery temperature falls below -20°C (-4°F).
- Overload Recovery: The battery features auto-recovery in case of overload (after 30 seconds).

6. Maintenance
LiFePO4 batteries require minimal maintenance compared to lead-acid batteries. Follow these guidelines for optimal performance and longevity:
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections. Clean terminals with a dry cloth if necessary.
- Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50% State of Charge (SOC) and stored in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 3-6 months to prevent deep discharge.
- Cleaning: Keep the battery clean and free of dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals for cleaning.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures outside its operating range (-20°C to 60°C for discharge, 0°C to 45°C for charge).
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Power Queen battery, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Battery not charging | Charger not connected, charger incompatible, low temperature cut-off active, BMS protection triggered. | Check charger connection and compatibility. Ensure ambient temperature is above 0°C (32°F). Disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset BMS. |
| Battery not discharging/no power output | Load not connected, load too high (overcurrent protection), low temperature cut-off active, battery deeply discharged. | Check load connections. Reduce load to within battery specifications. Ensure ambient temperature is above -20°C (-4°F). Charge the battery if deeply discharged. |
| Battery overheating | Excessive charge/discharge current, poor ventilation, high ambient temperature. | Reduce current. Ensure adequate ventilation around the battery. Move to a cooler environment if possible. The BMS will trigger high-temperature protection if necessary. |
| Loose terminal connections | Vibration, improper installation. | Tighten M8 terminal bolts. Ensure gaskets are used if terminal thickness is less than 2mm. |
If the problem persists, please contact Power Queen customer support.
