Introduction
The Kegland Soda Cylinder Adapter (Model KL15578) is designed to connect a standard soda bottle to a pressure regulator, offering flexibility for various CO2 applications. This Deluxe version features an adjustment screw that ensures no gas escapes prematurely during installation and allows precise control over CO2 flow.
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective setup, operation, and maintenance of your adapter.
Safety Information
- Always handle CO2 cylinders with care.
- Ensure all connections are tight before opening the CO2 supply.
- Do not overtighten connections, as this may damage threads or seals.
- Use only with compatible cylindrical soda bottles in the EU.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store CO2 cylinders in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
Package Contents
- 1 x Kegland Soda Cylinder Adapter (Model KL15578)
- 1 x Threaded Seal
Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to correctly install your Kegland Soda Cylinder Adapter:
- Prepare the Adapter: Ensure the adjustment screw on the adapter is fully unscrewed (turned counter-clockwise) so that the internal cone is retracted. This prevents premature CO2 release.
- Attach to Soda Cylinder: Carefully screw the adapter onto the top of your cylindrical soda bottle (TR 21 x 4 internal thread). Ensure the included threaded seal is properly seated. Hand-tighten until secure.

- Connect Pressure Regulator: Screw your pressure regulator (with W21.8 x 1/14" external thread) onto the output of the Kegland adapter. Hand-tighten firmly.

- Activate CO2 Flow: Once both the soda cylinder and pressure regulator are securely attached, slowly turn the adjustment screw on the adapter clockwise until it reaches its stop. This action pushes the internal cone, opening the CO2 pressure valve and allowing gas to flow into your regulator.
- Check for Leaks: After activation, listen for any hissing sounds indicating a leak. If a leak is detected, immediately turn the adjustment screw counter-clockwise to close the valve, then re-tighten connections and re-check.
Operating Instructions
Once installed, operating the adapter is straightforward:
- Controlling CO2 Flow: The adjustment screw on the adapter is primarily for opening and closing the CO2 cylinder valve. Fine-tuning of pressure should be done using your connected pressure regulator.
- Disconnection: To disconnect, first ensure the pressure regulator is closed. Then, turn the adjustment screw on the adapter fully counter-clockwise to close the CO2 cylinder valve. Once the valve is closed and no CO2 is flowing, you can safely unscrew the pressure regulator, followed by the adapter from the soda cylinder.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the adapter with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Seals: Periodically inspect the threaded seal for wear or damage. Replace if necessary to ensure a gas-tight connection.
- Storage: When not in use, store the adapter in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- Gas Leakage:
- Ensure all connections are hand-tightened securely.
- Check the threaded seal for proper seating and condition. Replace if worn or damaged.
- Verify the adjustment screw is fully turned clockwise to open the CO2 valve, and fully counter-clockwise to close it.
- No CO2 Flow:
- Confirm the adjustment screw is fully turned clockwise to open the CO2 cylinder valve.
- Check if the soda cylinder is empty.
- Ensure your pressure regulator is open and functioning correctly.
