1. Overview

The ARRMA GRANITE GROM 4X4 Monster Truck is a compact, 1/18 scale ready-to-run (RTR) remote control vehicle engineered for robust performance and durability. 3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the included Spektrum Smart 7.4V 1400mAh 2S 30C hard case LiPo battery using the provided Spektrum S10 Smart G2 Mini 2S USB-C charger. Ensure you use a compatible USB power supply (not included) with QC 2.0/3.0 18W+ for optimal charging.

3.2 Initial Vehicle Preparation

The ARRMA GRANITE GROM is Ready-to-Run (RTR). Ensure the battery is securely installed in the vehicle. The clipless body mount design allows for easy attachment and removal of the truck body. Familiarize yourself with the Spektrum SLT2 2-channel 2.4GHz radio controls before operation.

4. Operating Instructions

The ARRMA GRANITE GROM is designed for exciting off-road action. Its high-traction 4WD transmission provides excellent grip and control across various surfaces. The Spektrum SLT2 radio system offers precise control for steering and throttle.

4.1 Basic Operation

• Turn on the transmitter first, then the vehicle.
• Use the trigger for forward and reverse motion.
• Use the steering wheel for left and right turns.
• Always operate in open areas free from obstacles and people.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Post-Run Care

• Clean the vehicle after each use, especially if operated in dusty or wet conditions. The enclosed drivetrain helps protect internal components.
• Inspect the durable composite chassis, tough metal gears, and hex hardware for any signs of wear or damage.
• Check the independent suspension and oil-filled, coil-over shocks for proper function and any leaks.

6. Troubleshooting

• Vehicle not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly connected. Check the power switch on both the vehicle and the transmitter.
• Short run time: The battery may not be fully charged, or its capacity might be diminishing over time. Ensure proper charging procedures are followed.

6.2 Control Issues

• Loss of control/intermittent signal: Check that the transmitter and receiver are properly bound. Ensure there is no interference from other 2.4GHz devices.
• Steering or throttle not responding: Verify all servo and ESC connections are secure. Inspect for any physical damage to the steering servo or motor.

6.3 Mechanical Issues

• Unusual noises or grinding: This may indicate debris in the drivetrain or damaged gears. Inspect the enclosed drivetrain and metal gears for any foreign objects or wear.
• Vehicle pulling to one side: Check for bent suspension components, damaged wheels, or issues with the steering trim on the transmitter.

• Never leave batteries near fire, water or in extreme temperatures.
• Never exceed the recommended charge rate (C rating).
• Never short-circuit or alter batteries or related wires in any way.
• Always use chargers compatible with lithium polymer batteries.
• Never leave charging batteries unattended.
• Never charge batteries overnight.
• Disconnect charger if batteries become hot or puff.
• Dispose of batteries properly.

Caution: Avoid any impact on batteries. If this occurs, observe the battery pack in a safe area for 10 minutes. If any problems persist, discontinue use and contact Horizon Hobby.
