4. Setup and Assembly
The ENGWE E26 electric bike is delivered approximately 85% pre-assembled. Follow these steps for final assembly. For a visual guide, refer to the official installation video below.
- Handlebar Installation: Secure the handlebar stem to the fork. Ensure it is aligned straight with the front wheel.
- Headlights and Fenders Installation: Attach the front headlight to the fork and secure the front and rear fenders.
- Front Wheel Installation: Carefully install the front wheel, ensuring the brake rotor aligns correctly with the caliper.
- Pedals Installation: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. Thread them into the crank arms. Note that the left pedal threads counter-clockwise.
- Rear Saddle and Rear Taillight Installation: Adjust the saddle height for comfortable riding. Attach the rear taillight to the rear rack.
- Battery Installation: Insert the 48V 16Ah battery into the frame's compartment and secure it.

6. Operating Instructions
The ENGWE E26 offers multiple riding modes for varied experiences:
- Electric Mode: Utilizes only the motor for propulsion. Provides a range of up to 38.5 miles.
- Assist Mode (Pedal-Assist): Combines your pedaling effort with motor assistance. Offers an extended range of up to 87 miles. There are 5 different levels of assist.
- Manual Mode: Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle without any motor assistance.
The bike can reach a speed of 20 MPH using the throttle, and a boost speed of up to 28 MPH when the speed limit is lifted.

7. Battery Information
The ENGWE E26 is powered by a 48V 16Ah removable lithium-ion battery. Proper care ensures optimal performance and lifespan.
- Charging: Use only the provided charger. Charge the battery in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials. Do not overcharge.
- Removal: The battery can be removed for charging or storage. Ensure the bike is powered off before removal.
- Storage: If storing the bike for an extended period, charge the battery to 50-70% and store it in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 2-3 months.
- Safety: Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or water. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the battery.

- Access Controller Box: Remove the battery and loosen the screws of the controller box located within the frame.
- Inspect Right Brake Lever Plug: Follow the cable from the right brake lever to the controller. Disconnect the plug and check if any pins are broken. Turn on the display; if E25 disappears, the right brake lever needs replacement. If E25 still appears, reconnect the plug.
- Inspect Left Brake Lever Plug: Follow the cable from the left brake lever to the controller. Disconnect the plug and check if any pins are broken. Turn on the display; if E25 disappears, the left brake lever needs replacement. If E25 still appears, reconnect the plug.
- Inspect Taillight Plug: Disconnect the taillight plug and check if any pins are broken. Turn on the display; if E25 disappears, the taillight needs replacement. If E25 still appears, reconnect the plug.
- Controller Issue: If the E25 error persists after checking all brake lever and taillight connections, the controller may need to be replaced.
