1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before using your Lafe CEG015 Electric Kettle and retain them for future reference. Incorrect operation may cause potential hazards.

• Always ensure the kettle is placed on a firm, flat, heat-resistant surface.
• Do not immerse the kettle, power base, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
• This appliance is for household use only. Do not use outdoors.
• Keep the appliance out of reach of children and pets. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near children.
• Do not operate the kettle if the cord or plug is damaged, or if the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• Unplug the kettle from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not fill the kettle above the 'MAX' level or below the 'MIN' level to prevent boiling dry or water splashing.
• Always ensure the lid is securely closed before operating the kettle.
• Use caution when pouring hot water. Pour slowly and do not over-tilt the kettle.
• The kettle features an automatic shut-off and boil-dry protection system. If the kettle boils dry, it will automatically switch off. Allow it to cool down for 15-20 minutes before refilling with cold water.
• Only use the power base provided with the kettle.

3. Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the kettle and all accessories from the packaging. Dispose of packaging materials responsibly.
2. First Use Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the 'MAX' level. Boil the water, then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
3. Placement: Place the power base on a dry, flat, and stable surface, away from the edge of the countertop and out of reach of children. Ensure the power cord is not dangling.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the rating label on the bottom of the power base.

4. Operating Instructions

1. Fill the Kettle: Open the lid and fill the kettle with the desired amount of fresh cold water. Do not fill below the 'MIN' mark (0.5L) or above the 'MAX' mark (1.7L). Overfilling may cause boiling water to splash out.
2. Close the Lid: Ensure the lid is securely closed before placing the kettle on its power base.
3. Place on Power Base: Position the kettle firmly onto the power base.
4. Switch On: Press the ON/OFF switch located on the handle or base. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the kettle is heating.
5. Boiling Process: The water will begin to heat. Once the water reaches boiling point, the kettle will automatically switch off, and the indicator light will extinguish.
6. Pouring: Carefully lift the kettle from the power base and pour the hot water slowly and steadily.
7. Re-boiling: If you need to re-boil, wait a few seconds for the automatic switch to reset before pressing the ON/OFF switch again.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your kettle.

• Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the surface.
• Interior Cleaning: The interior of the glass body can be cleaned with a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• Descaling: Limescale buildup can affect performance. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water, or use a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions. Boil the mixture, then let it stand for at least 30 minutes (or longer for heavy buildup). Discard the solution and rinse the kettle thoroughly several times with fresh water. Boil fresh water 2-3 times and discard to remove any residual vinegar taste.
• Power Base: Never immerse the power base in water or any other liquid. Wipe it with a dry cloth if necessary.
