1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the correct installation, use, and maintenance of your Nania Spirit Car Seat. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the car seat and keep it for future reference. Proper installation and use are crucial for your child's safety.
2. Safety Information and Warnings
Always prioritize your child's safety. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
- Read the Vehicle Manual: Always consult your vehicle's owner's manual for specific instructions regarding child restraint installation and compatible seating positions.
- Correct Installation: Ensure the car seat is correctly installed using the ISOFIX system and the support leg. A loose car seat can be dangerous in a collision.
- Harness Adjustment: Always ensure the child's harness is snug and correctly adjusted. The harness straps should be at or slightly below the child's shoulders for rear-facing, and at or slightly above for forward-facing.
- Rear-Facing for Infants: Keep infants rear-facing for as long as possible, up to the maximum height/weight limit specified (40-105 cm).
- Never Leave Child Unattended: Do not leave your child unattended in the car seat, even for short periods.
- Damage Inspection: Regularly inspect the car seat for any signs of damage, wear, or missing parts. Do not use a damaged car seat.
- After an Accident: A car seat involved in a moderate to severe accident should be replaced, even if there is no visible damage.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Child Weight and Height Guidelines

Image: Visual guide for the Nania Spirit Car Seat, demonstrating its adaptability from birth (40 cm) up to approximately 12 years (150 cm), showing different configurations for child growth.
| Group | Weight Range | Height Range | Approximate Age | Orientation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0+ | 0 - 13 kg | 40 - 105 cm | Birth - approx. 4 years | Rear-facing |
| I | 9 - 18 kg | 76 - 105 cm | approx. 9 months - 4 years | Forward-facing (after 15 months) |
| II / III | 15 - 36 kg | 100 - 150 cm | approx. 3.5 - 12 years | Forward-facing (booster mode) |
Important: The i-Size R129 standard primarily uses height for classification. Always keep your child rear-facing until they reach at least 15 months old and 76 cm in height. It is recommended to keep them rear-facing for as long as possible, up to 105 cm.
5.2 Seat Orientation (Rear-Facing vs. Forward-Facing)

Image: Comparison of rear-facing (Dos route) and forward-facing (Face route) positions for the Nania Spirit Car Seat. Rear-facing is recommended for children 40-105 cm, and forward-facing is suitable from 76 cm.
- Rear-Facing (40-105 cm): For infants and toddlers. Provides superior head and neck protection.
- Forward-Facing (from 76 cm, minimum 15 months): For older toddlers and children. Ensure the child meets the minimum height and age requirements before switching.
5.3 360° Swivel Function

Image: The Nania Spirit Car Seat rotating 360 degrees, illustrating how this feature simplifies placing a child into the seat and changing its orientation.
To rotate the seat, locate the swivel release lever (usually at the front or side of the base). Press the lever and rotate the seat to the desired position. Ensure it locks securely into place before driving.
5.4 Harness and Headrest Adjustment
The harness and headrest are designed to adjust simultaneously. To adjust:
- Loosen the harness straps by pressing the harness release button (often located under a flap at the front of the seat) and pulling the shoulder straps.
- Lift the headrest adjustment lever (usually at the top of the headrest) and slide the headrest up or down to the correct height.
- For rear-facing, the shoulder straps should be at or slightly below your child's shoulders. For forward-facing, they should be at or slightly above.
- Place your child in the seat, buckle the harness, and pull the harness tightening strap until the harness is snug. You should not be able to pinch any excess webbing at the child's collarbone.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning Fabric Covers: The fabric covers can typically be removed and machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water. Refer to the care label on the fabric for specific instructions. Do not use bleach. Air dry only.
- Cleaning Harness Straps: Wipe harness straps with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or submerge harness straps, as this can weaken the webbing.
- Cleaning Plastic Parts: Wipe plastic parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, store the car seat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
7. Troubleshooting
- Car Seat Feels Loose After Installation:
Ensure ISOFIX connectors are fully engaged (green indicators visible). Push the car seat firmly into the vehicle seat. Re-adjust the support leg to ensure it is firmly braced against the floor.
- Harness is Difficult to Tighten/Loosen:
Check for twists in the harness straps. Ensure the harness release button is fully pressed when loosening. Pull the tightening strap smoothly and directly.
- Seat Does Not Swivel:
Ensure the swivel release lever is fully engaged. Check for any obstructions around the base of the seat. The seat may need to be in a specific recline position to swivel.
- Child Outgrows Current Configuration:
Refer to the "Child Weight and Height Guidelines" section (5.1) to determine if it's time to adjust the headrest, switch to forward-facing, or remove the internal harness for booster mode (for older children using the vehicle's seat belt).
