1. Introduction

The Maclean MCE33 is an outdoor wall light designed to provide efficient illumination with integrated motion and dusk sensing capabilities. This light is ideal for enhancing security and convenience in various outdoor settings such as gardens, yards, garages, and pathways. It features a 180° PIR motion detector with a range of up to 9 meters and a dusk sensor that ensures the light only activates when ambient light levels are low. The included energy-efficient 4W LED bulb provides warm white light.

2. Safety Instructions

• Always disconnect power at the main circuit breaker before installation, maintenance, or bulb replacement.
• Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations.

4. Setup

4.1. Mounting the Light

1. Choose a suitable mounting location, ideally between 1.8 to 2 meters above the ground, to ensure optimal motion detection.
2. Mark the drilling points on the wall using the light fixture as a template.
3. Drill holes and insert the wall plugs.
4. Secure the light fixture to the wall using the provided screws.

4.2. Electrical Connection

1. Ensure power is OFF at the main circuit breaker.
2. Open the light fixture to access the wiring terminals.
3. Connect the live (L), neutral (N), and ground (GND) wires from your electrical supply to the corresponding terminals inside the fixture. Refer to the wiring diagram inside the fixture if available.
4. Secure all connections tightly.
5. Close the light fixture, ensuring it is properly sealed to maintain its IP44 rating.

4.3. Installing the LED Bulb

1. Carefully screw the provided 4W LED E27 bulb into the lamp holder.
2. Do not overtighten.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Adjusting Sensor Settings

The Maclean MCE33 features two adjustable dials for customizing its operation:

• LUX (Light Sensitivity) Dial: This dial controls the ambient light level at which the motion sensor becomes active.
  • Turn towards the sun symbol (2000 lux) for the sensor to activate in brighter conditions (daytime).
  • Turn towards the moon symbol (3 lux) for the sensor to activate only in very dark conditions (nighttime).
• TIME (Time Delay) Dial: This dial sets how long the light remains on after motion is detected and no further motion is sensed.
  • Adjust from a minimum of 10 seconds to a maximum of 5 minutes.

5.2. Motion Detection

The integrated PIR motion detector has a 180° detection angle and a maximum range of 9 meters (at <24°C). The light will activate when motion is detected within this range, provided the ambient light level is below the set LUX threshold.

5.3. Dusk Sensor Functionality

The dusk sensor ensures energy efficiency by preventing the light from activating during daylight hours. The light will only turn on due to motion detection when the surrounding environment is dark enough, as determined by the LUX setting.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the light fixture periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Bulb Replacement: If the LED bulb needs replacement, ensure power is off. Unscrew the old E27 bulb and screw in a new E27 LED bulb (max 60W).
• Sensor Area: Keep the sensor lens clean and free from obstructions (e.g., dirt, spiderwebs) to ensure optimal performance.
