These shades are designed to offer privacy, light control, and thermal insulation, featuring a motorized mechanism, solar charging capabilities, and an upgraded fabric for enhanced performance.

2. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance. Please follow these guidelines carefully.

2.1 Mounting Options

Your motorized blinds support both inside and outside mount installations.

2.1.1 Inside Mount

For inside mount, the window depth should be at least 2.5 inches. Measure the width at three points (top, middle, bottom) and select the smallest measurement as the shade width. Measure the height at three points (left, middle, right) and select the largest measurement as the shade height. The actual blind's size should match your order size.

2.1.2 Outside Mount

For outside mount, add 4 inches to both the width and height measurements of your window to determine the required blind size. This helps minimize light gaps on the sides for full blackout coverage.

2.2 Solar Panel Connection

The motorized blinds come with a complimentary solar panel. It is recommended to keep the solar panel plugged into the smart roller shades at all times to ensure continuous power supply.

If your window is too high or lacks an outlet, the solar panel provides a convenient charging solution.

3. Operating Instructions

Your DONGFXK motorized blinds can be operated via the included remote control and, optionally, through a smart hub for advanced control.

3.1 Remote Control Operation

The remote control allows for individual or group control of your shades. A 15-channel remote control (available separately) can manage up to 15 motorized blinds simultaneously.

Use the up and down buttons to raise or lower the shades. The stop button will halt movement at any point.

3.2 Smart and Group Control (Optional)

For voice and app control, a smart bridge (hub) is required. This hub can control up to 30 automatic blackout shades and enables integration with smart home systems like Alexa and Google Assistant.

3.3 Setting Stop Points

The shades can be freely adjusted to stop at any height between 0 and 72 inches. Refer to the remote control's specific instructions for setting upper and lower limits.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your shades.

4.1 Fabric Care

The upgraded four-layer fabric is designed for durability and performance. Due to the unique properties of the fabric, wrinkles may form during transportation. To remove wrinkles, gently use an iron for one second upon receiving the blinds, or allow them to hang for approximately one week.

For cleaning, spot clean the fabric as needed. Do not machine wash or submerge in water.

4.2 Solar Panel and Battery

Keep the solar panels plugged into the shades at all times to maintain sufficient power. The shades can also be charged using an external power supply with a 1A charger if solar charging is insufficient or unavailable.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your motorized blinds, refer to the following common solutions.

5.1 Blinds Not Responding to Remote

• Ensure the remote control has working batteries.
• Verify that the remote is paired correctly with the blinds. Refer to the remote's specific pairing instructions.
• If using a multi-channel remote, ensure the correct channel for the specific blind is selected.

5.2 Smart Hub Connectivity Issues

• Ensure the smart hub is properly powered and within range of your Wi-Fi network.
• Confirm that the hub is correctly paired with your blinds and the smart home application (e.g., Tuya app).
• If the provided hub is not functioning, consider alternative universal RF devices like a Broadlink RM 4 Pro, which some users have found effective for controlling these blinds. The remote frequency is often 433.85 MHz.

5.3 Wrinkles in Fabric

As mentioned in the Maintenance section, wrinkles can occur during shipping. Use a low-heat iron for a brief moment (1 second) or allow the blinds to hang for about a week for wrinkles to naturally smooth out.
