1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the CEMELI SY-PIR203B Human Body Infrared Sensor Switch. This intelligent sensor switch is designed to detect human movement within its detection range and automatically control lighting or other connected loads. It offers 360-degree detection and adjustable settings for time delay, sensitivity, and ambient light level, providing convenience and energy efficiency for various applications, particularly in home smart lighting systems. Please read this manual carefully before installation and operation to ensure proper use and safety.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local electrical codes and regulations.
- Disconnect power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before installing or servicing the switch.
- Do not exceed the specified electrical ratings (voltage and load).
- Ensure all wire connections are secure and properly insulated.
- Do not install in locations with high humidity, extreme temperatures, or direct exposure to water.
- Keep out of reach of children.
3. Product Overview
The CEMELI SY-PIR203B sensor switch features a compact design with adjustable controls for optimal performance.

Figure 1: Front view of the CEMELI SY-PIR203B sensor switch, showing the motion sensor lens and the three adjustment dials for Time, Sensitivity, and Lux.
Key Components:
- PIR Sensor Lens: Detects infrared radiation emitted by moving bodies.
- TIME Knob: Adjusts the duration the connected load remains ON after motion detection ceases.
- SENS Knob: Adjusts the sensitivity of the motion detection.
- LUX Knob: Adjusts the ambient light level at which the sensor will activate the load.
- Indicator Light: Provides visual feedback on sensor status.

5. Installation and Setup
Important: Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before beginning installation.
5.1 Mounting Location
- Choose a location where the sensor has an unobstructed view of the area to be monitored.
- Avoid mounting near heat sources (e.g., vents, radiators) or in direct sunlight, as this can cause false triggers.
- Do not mount near moving objects like curtains or fans that could interfere with detection.
- For optimal 360-degree detection, ceiling mounting is generally recommended.
5.2 Wiring Instructions
This device requires a live, neutral, and load connection. Consult a qualified electrician for wiring if you are unsure.
- Turn off power at the main circuit breaker.
- Connect the Live (L) wire from the power supply to the Live terminal on the sensor.
- Connect the Neutral (N) wire from the power supply to the Neutral terminal on the sensor.
- Connect the Load (L') wire from the sensor to the Live input of your lighting fixture or appliance.
- Ensure the Neutral wire from the lighting fixture/appliance is connected to the main Neutral supply.
- Securely fasten the sensor to the mounting surface.
- Restore power and proceed to operating instructions.
6. Operating Instructions
After installation, adjust the three control knobs to suit your specific needs.
- TIME Adjustment:
Rotate the "TIME" knob to set the duration the light remains on after motion is no longer detected. Turning it towards the '-' symbol decreases the time (minimum 5 seconds), and towards the '+' symbol increases the time (maximum 420 seconds).
- SENS (Sensitivity) Adjustment:
Rotate the "SENS" knob to adjust the detection sensitivity. Turning it towards the '-' symbol reduces sensitivity (detects larger movements or closer objects), and towards the '+' symbol increases sensitivity (detects smaller movements or objects further away).
- LUX (Ambient Light) Adjustment:
Rotate the "LUX" knob to set the ambient light threshold.
- Towards the 'moon' symbol: The sensor will only activate the light when the ambient light is low (e.g., at night).
- Towards the 'sun' symbol: The sensor will activate the light regardless of the ambient light level (day and night operation).
7. Maintenance
- Ensure power is off before cleaning.
- Wipe the sensor lens and housing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically check for any obstructions that might block the sensor's field of view.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on when motion is detected. |
|
|
| Light stays on continuously. |
|
|
| Light turns on too frequently or for no apparent reason. |
