The SMATRUL Smart Plug operates with the Smart Life App or Tuya Smart App. Download the app from your device's app store.
- Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Install the application on your smartphone or tablet.
- Register a new account or log in if you already have one.
4.2 Connecting to Wi-Fi (2.4GHz Only)
The smart plug requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for initial setup and operation. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz network during the pairing process.
- Plug the smart plug into a wall outlet.
- Open the Smart Life or Tuya Smart App.
- Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled.
- Press and hold the button on the smart plug until the indicator light flickers quickly. This indicates pairing mode.
- In the app, tap the "+" icon to add a device. The app should automatically detect the new device.
- Confirm the device in the app and follow the on-screen prompts to connect it to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Once successfully added, you can rename the device for easier control.

4.3 RF433 Pairing Method (Optional)
This smart plug supports RF433 remote control for extended range and alternative control methods. An RF433 remote control is sold separately.
- Plug the smart plug into a wall outlet.
- Quickly click the button on the smart plug twice.
- Quickly click the desired button on your RF433 remote control twice to pair.
To clear the RF433 pairing signal, quickly click the button on the smart plug 8 times.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic On/Off Control
- Manual Control: Press the physical button on the smart plug to toggle power on or off.
- App Control: Open the Smart Life or Tuya Smart App, select your smart plug, and tap the power icon to turn it on or off.
- Voice Control: Integrate with Alexa or Google Home (see section 5.3). Use commands like "Alexa, turn on [device name]" or "Hey Google, turn off [device name]".
5.2 Scheduling and Timers
The app allows you to set schedules, countdowns, and other timing functions for automated control.
- In the Smart Life/Tuya Smart App, select your smart plug.
- Navigate to the "Timer" or "Schedule" section.
- Set desired on/off times, countdowns, or recurring schedules.
The smart plug features a memory function, returning to its last state (on/off) after a power interruption.

5.3 Voice Control Integration (Alexa/Google Home)
To enable voice control, link your Smart Life or Tuya Smart account with your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
- Open the Alexa or Google Home app.
- Go to the "Skills" (Alexa) or "Works with Google" (Google Home) section.
- Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" and enable the skill/service.
- Link your Smart Life/Tuya Smart account using your app credentials.
- Discover devices. Your smart plug should now appear and be controllable via voice commands.

5.4 USB C Port Usage
The integrated USB C port provides 5V/1A power output for charging compatible devices or powering USB-C accessories. Note that the USB C port's power is independent of the main AC outlet's control and remains on continuously.

6. Maintenance

7. Troubleshooting
- Device not connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The smart plug does not support 5GHz networks.
- Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
- Move the smart plug closer to your Wi-Fi router during setup.
- Reset the smart plug by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in, then attempt pairing again.
- Check if your router has too many devices connected, which might prevent new connections.
- Voice control not working:
- Confirm that the Smart Life/Tuya Smart skill/service is enabled in your Alexa or Google Home app.
- Ensure your smart plug is named clearly and consistently across all apps.
- Check your internet connection.
- Plug is unresponsive:
- Check if the wall outlet has power.
- Unplug the smart plug, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in.
- If the issue persists, try resetting the device to factory settings (refer to app for specific instructions, usually involves holding the button for an extended period).
- USB C port not charging:
- Ensure the connected device is compatible with 5V/1A charging.
- Check the USB C cable for damage.
- Verify the device is properly connected to the USB C port.
