Setup

Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert one 1.5V AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). (Battery not included)
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5. The device display should activate.

Initial Placement

Place the device in a location where accurate temperature and humidity readings are desired. Avoid placing it near heat sources, direct sunlight, or areas with high airflow (e.g., near vents) to ensure accurate measurements.

For model E0828A, position the external probe in the desired outdoor or secondary indoor location, ensuring the cable is not pinched or damaged.

Operating Instructions

Display Information

The LCD screen displays the following information:

• Temperature: Current temperature in Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
• Humidity: Current relative humidity (RH%).
• Time: Current time (AM/PM indicator may be present).
• Comfort Level Indicator: A small icon (e.g., a face) may indicate the comfort level based on temperature and humidity.
• IN/OUT (E0828A only): Indicates indoor and outdoor temperature readings.

Button Functions

The device typically features several buttons for operation:

• MODE: Used to switch between display modes (e.g., time setting, alarm setting) or to confirm settings.
• ADJ (Adjust): Used to adjust values (e.g., hours, minutes) during setting modes.
• °C/°F: Toggles the temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
• MAX/MIN: Displays the maximum and minimum recorded temperature and humidity since the last reset. Press again to cycle through MAX, MIN, and current readings. Long press to reset MAX/MIN values. (Available on E0828 and E0828A models).
• Gear Icon (Settings/Backlight - E0828S only): Short press to activate the backlight. The backlight on E0828S models automatically turns off after a few seconds.

Setting the Time

1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the time setting mode is activated (e.g., hours start flashing).
2. Use the ADJ button to adjust the hours.
3. Press MODE again to switch to minutes, then use ADJ to adjust the minutes.
4. Press MODE to confirm and exit the time setting mode.

Backlight Operation (E0828S only)

For model E0828S, press the button with the gear icon (or similar backlight symbol) to illuminate the display. The backlight will automatically turn off after a few seconds to conserve battery life.

Note: Models E0828 and E0828A do not feature a backlight.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.

Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or the device stops functioning, replace the AAA battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.

Storage

If storing the device for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage and damage.
