fishkeeper Aquarium Air Pump Instruction Manual
Model: FK042
1. Product Overview
The fishkeeper Aquarium Air Pump is designed to provide efficient oxygenation for your freshwater or saltwater aquarium. Available in 3W and 5W models, this compact and powerful pump ensures a healthy aquatic environment for your fish.
The 3W model offers a 50 GPH (3L/min) output flow, suitable for tanks up to 50 gallons and water depths up to 4 feet. The 5W model provides 95 GPH (2*3.5L/min) output, ideal for tanks up to 160 gallons. Both models feature a high-frequency all-copper pneumatic motor for stable airflow and are engineered for quiet operation, with noise levels typically below 40 dB, similar to a refrigerator's hum.

3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your fishkeeper Aquarium Air Pump:
- Prepare the Air Tube: Cut the provided air tube to your desired length, ensuring it reaches from the pump to the air stone within your tank.
- Connect the Check Valve (if needed): If your air pump will be placed below the water level of your tank, a check valve MUST be used to prevent water from siphoning back into the pump and causing damage. Insert the check valve into the air tube, ensuring the airflow direction is correct (usually indicated by an arrow on the valve).
- Attach to Pump: Securely attach one end of the prepared air tube (with or without the check valve) to the air outlet of the pump.
- Attach Air Stone: Connect the other end of the air tube to the air stone.
- Place in Tank: Submerge the air stone in your aquarium. For optimal bubble distribution, place it in an area with good water circulation.
- Power On: Plug the air pump into a suitable power outlet.
For 5W models with two air outlets, you can use the included Y-shunt connector to split the airflow and connect two air stones for aeration in different parts of a single tank or in two smaller tanks simultaneously.

4. Operating Instructions
The fishkeeper Aquarium Air Pump is designed for simple and effective operation:
- Power On/Off: Simply plug in the pump to turn it on, and unplug it to turn it off.
- Adjust Airflow: The pump features an adjustable knob (if applicable to your model) to control the air output. Turn the knob clockwise to increase airflow and counter-clockwise to decrease it, allowing you to customize the bubble intensity for your aquarium's needs.
- Quiet Operation: Thanks to its high-frequency pneumatic motor and four shock-absorbing rubber feet, the pump operates quietly, minimizing disturbance to your aquatic environment and household.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your fishkeeper Aquarium Air Pump:
- Air Stone Cleaning/Replacement: Over time, air stones can become clogged, reducing airflow. Periodically remove the air stone and clean it. If cleaning does not restore adequate airflow, replace the air stone.
- Tubing Inspection: Regularly check the air tubing for kinks, blockages, or damage. Ensure the tubing is clear and allows for unrestricted airflow.
- Pump Placement: Ensure the pump is placed on a stable, flat surface to prevent excessive vibration. The rubber feet are designed to absorb shock, but proper placement further enhances quiet operation.
