Sanding Technique
Follow these guidelines for effective and safe sanding:
- Always start the sander before placing it onto the workpiece surface.
- Apply light, even pressure. Allow the tool's weight and speed to do the work. Excessive pressure can reduce efficiency and damage the tool or surface.
- Move the sander smoothly and consistently over the surface in overlapping passes to ensure an even finish.
- The gimbal joint allows the sanding head to adapt to uneven surfaces, maintaining full contact.
- For ceiling work, utilize the supporting T-handle and the inclined sanding head for improved ergonomics and control.
- Regularly check the sanding disc for wear and replace it when necessary to maintain optimal performance.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sander.
- Always disconnect the battery before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
- Clean the tool regularly, paying special attention to the ventilation slots, to prevent dust buildup and overheating.
- Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning. Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or harsh chemicals.
- Ensure the dust extraction port and hose are clear of any debris or blockages.
Changing Sanding Discs
Replace sanding discs when they become worn, torn, or clogged to maintain effective sanding.
- Ensure the sander is switched off and the battery is removed.
- Carefully peel off the old sanding disc from the Velcro plate.
- Attach a new sanding disc, ensuring it is centered on the sanding plate and firmly pressed onto the Velcro surface for secure adhesion.
