1. Overview

The Rayoungtek N60 is a rugged, handheld Android barcode scanner designed for efficient data collection in various environments such as warehouses, retail, and logistics. It operates on Android 12, featuring a 4.0-inch IPS touch screen and a numeric keypad for intuitive navigation and data entry. Equipped with a built-in Honeywell N5703 1D/2D/QR scan engine and an NFC reader, the N60 ensures accurate and rapid data capture. Its robust design, including IP66 dustproof and waterproof rating, makes it suitable for demanding industrial use. The device supports 4G mobile networks and WiFi for seamless real-time data transmission.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
2. Gently slide or lift the cover to open it.
3. Insert the 4300mAh Lithium Polymer battery into the compartment, ensuring the gold contacts align with the device's terminals.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and ensure it is securely latched.

3.2 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the Type-C data cable to the N60's charging port and the charger adapter to a power outlet. The charging indicator light will illuminate. A full charge typically takes several hours.

3.3 SIM Card Installation

The N60 supports 4G SIM cards for mobile network connectivity.

1. Power off the device before inserting or removing the SIM card.
2. Locate the SIM card slot, usually near the battery compartment.
3. Insert the SIM card into the designated slot with the metal contacts facing down, following the orientation indicated on the device.
4. Gently push until it clicks into place.

3.4 Screen Protector Application

To protect the 4.0-inch IPS touch screen, carefully apply the included screen protector. Ensure the screen is clean and free of dust before application to avoid bubbles.

4. Operating the Device

4.1 Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the Power button (located on the side) until the screen illuminates.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until a power-off menu appears. Select 'Power off' to shut down the device.

4.2 Navigating Android 12

The N60 runs on Android 12, providing a familiar and user-friendly interface. Use the touch screen for navigation, app selection, and data input. The numeric keypad offers physical buttons for quick number entry and specific functions.

4.3 Barcode Scanning

The N60 features a built-in Honeywell N5703 scan engine for rapid and accurate 1D/2D barcode and QR code scanning. There are three dedicated scan buttons: one on the front and two on the sides for convenient single-handed operation.

1. Open the scanning application on the device.
2. Point the scanner window at the barcode or QR code.
3. Press any of the scan buttons to activate the scanner. A successful scan will typically be indicated by a beep or visual confirmation on the screen.

4.4 NFC Reading

The integrated 13.56MHz NFC reader allows for reading NFC tags, which is useful for product tracking, inventory management, and anti-counterfeiting measures. Ensure the NFC function is enabled in the device settings and hold the device near the NFC tag to read its information.

4.5 Connectivity (4G, WiFi)

The N60 supports both 4G mobile networks (with a SIM card installed) and WiFi for versatile connectivity. You can configure network settings through the Android settings menu to connect to available WiFi networks or manage mobile data usage.

4.6 Using the Numeric Keypad

The physical numeric keypad is designed for efficient and frequent number input, complementing the touch screen. It includes independent keys for standard numeric input and function keys for specific operations within applications.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance and appearance, regularly clean your N60 device. Use a soft, lint-free cloth, slightly dampened with water or a mild screen cleaner, to wipe the screen and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid extreme temperatures and do not allow the battery to fully discharge frequently. Charge the device using only the provided charger adapter and Type-C cable. If the device will not be used for an extended period, store it with a partial charge (around 50%).

5.3 Software Updates

Periodically check for software updates to ensure your device has the latest features, security patches, and performance improvements. Updates can typically be found in the device's settings under 'System' or 'About phone'.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Common Issues and Solutions

• Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is correctly installed and fully charged. Try connecting the charger to confirm if the charging indicator lights up.
• Barcode scanner not working: Check if the scanning application is open and active. Ensure the barcode is clean and well-lit. Verify that the scanner window is not obstructed or dirty.
• No network connectivity (4G/WiFi): For 4G, ensure a valid SIM card is inserted and mobile data is enabled. For WiFi, check if WiFi is turned on and you are connected to the correct network with the right password.
• Touch screen unresponsive: Restart the device. If the issue persists, ensure the screen protector is properly applied and not causing interference.
• Device running slow: Close unnecessary applications running in the background. Clear cache for frequently used apps. Consider performing a factory reset as a last resort (back up data first).
