Step 1: Assemble the Refill Stand
- Attach the three legs to the refill stand base using the provided screws and wing nuts. Ensure the stand is stable.
- Place the refill stand on a flat, stable surface outdoors, away from any ignition sources.

Step 2: Prepare the Large Propane Tank
- Ensure your larger propane tank (e.g., 20LB BBQ tank) is full or has sufficient propane.
- Invert the large propane tank and securely place it into the assembled refill stand. The tank's valve should be facing downwards.
- Connect the black knob end of the refill adapter valve to the large propane tank's valve. Tighten securely by hand.

Operating Instructions (Refilling)
Follow these steps carefully to refill your 1LB propane cylinders.
Step 1: Connect the 1LB Cylinder
- Ensure the valve on the refill adapter is in the "OFF" position (lever perpendicular to the adapter body).
- Screw the empty Flame King 1LB refillable propane cylinder onto the threaded end of the refill adapter. Tighten firmly by hand.
- Locate the bleed screw on the 1LB cylinder (a small screw near the valve). Using the provided Allen wrench, loosen the bleed screw by approximately a quarter turn. This allows air to escape during refilling.

Step 2: Initiate Refill
- Slowly open the valve on the large propane tank.
- Slowly open the valve on the refill adapter (lever parallel to the adapter body). You should hear gas flowing into the 1LB cylinder and air escaping from the bleed screw.
- The 1LB cylinder will become cold as it fills.
- Monitor the gas escaping from the bleed screw. When liquid propane starts to escape (it will sputter and become visible), the 1LB cylinder is approximately 80% full. This indicates a safe fill level.
Step 3: Complete Refill
- Immediately close the valve on the refill adapter.
- Close the valve on the large propane tank.
- Tighten the bleed screw on the 1LB cylinder.
- Carefully unscrew the refilled 1LB cylinder from the adapter. There may be a small hiss of residual gas; this is normal.

Maintenance and Storage

Troubleshooting
Problem: Cylinder not filling or filling slowly.
- Solution: Ensure the large propane tank is inverted and securely placed in the stand. Liquid propane flows downwards.
- Solution: Verify both the large tank valve and the adapter valve are fully open.
- Solution: Check that the bleed screw on the 1LB cylinder is sufficiently loosened (approx. 1/4 turn) to allow air to escape.
- Solution: The large propane tank may be low on fuel or too cold. Allow the large tank to warm up slightly (but never apply direct heat).
Problem: Gas leaking from connections.
- Solution: Tighten all connections securely by hand. Do not overtighten.
- Solution: Apply soapy water to connections to identify the exact leak source. If a leak persists after tightening, replace the faulty component.
- Solution: Ensure O-rings are present and in good condition within the brass caps and adapter connections.
