4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Mounting the Speakers
The Herdio outdoor speakers come with an adjustable swivel bracket for flexible mounting options. They can be wall-mounted or placed on a flat surface.
- Choose Location: Select a suitable location for your speakers, considering sound dispersion and proximity to a power outlet. Ensure the surface is sturdy enough to support the speakers.
- Mark Drilling Points: Use the speaker bracket as a template to mark the drilling points on the wall or mounting surface.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked points. Use appropriate drill bits for your mounting surface (wood, masonry, etc.).
- Secure Bracket: Attach the speaker bracket to the surface using suitable screws (not included, unless specified in packaging).
- Attach Speaker: Slide the speaker onto the bracket and secure it using the provided knob or screw.
- Adjust Angle: Adjust the speaker angle using the 180° rotating bracket for optimal sound direction. Tighten the knob to lock the position.

4.2 Connecting the Speakers
The system consists of one active speaker and one passive speaker. The active speaker contains the amplifier and connectivity ports.
- Connect Passive Speaker: Use the provided speaker cable to connect the passive speaker to the active speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) at the spring clip terminals on both speakers.
- Connect Power: Plug the power supply into the DC 12V input port on the active speaker, then plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Bluetooth Connection
- Power On: Ensure the speakers are powered on. The active speaker will enter Bluetooth pairing mode automatically.
- Enable Bluetooth: On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), enable Bluetooth.
- Pair Device: Search for "Herdio Speaker" or a similar name in your device's Bluetooth settings. Select it to pair.
- Confirmation: Once paired, you will hear an audible confirmation from the speakers, and the Bluetooth indicator light (if present) will become solid.
- Playback: You can now play audio from your device through the Herdio speakers.

Note: The Bluetooth connection range is up to 30 feet. Obstacles and interference may reduce this range.
5.2 AUX Input Connection
For devices without Bluetooth or for a wired connection, use the 3.5mm AUX input.
- Connect Cable: Insert a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) into the AUX IN port on the active speaker.
- Connect Device: Connect the other end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device (e.g., mobile phone, laptop, computer, home theater, television, MP3, CD player).
- Automatic Switching: The speakers will automatically switch to AUX input mode when a cable is detected.

5.3 Volume Control
Volume is controlled directly from your connected audio source (smartphone, tablet, etc.). Ensure the volume on your source device is set appropriately.
6. Maintenance and Care
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Herdio outdoor speakers, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the speaker enclosures with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish and waterproof coating.
- Water Exposure: While the speakers are waterproof and weatherproof, avoid prolonged submersion or direct high-pressure water jets. Ensure all connections are secure to maintain water resistance.
- Storage: If storing the speakers for an extended period, especially in extreme weather conditions, it is recommended to disconnect them from power and store them in a dry, protected area.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect speaker cables and power cords for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
- Environmental Conditions: The speakers are designed to withstand various weather conditions. However, extreme temperatures (below -4°F / -20°C or above 140°F / 60°C) or prolonged direct sunlight may affect performance and lifespan.
