5. Installation
5.1 Wall Mounting
- Choose a suitable, secure location for installation.
- Open the key box and mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes on the back panel.
- Drill holes in the wall at the marked positions.
- Insert wall plugs (not included) if necessary for your wall type.
- Secure the key box to the wall using appropriate screws (not included).
5.2 Portable Use (Shackle)
For temporary or portable use, attach the shackle to the top of the key box. The shackle allows the key box to be hung on door handles, fences, or other suitable fixtures. Ensure the shackle is securely locked before leaving the key box unattended.
6. Battery Installation
- Open the key box.
- Locate the battery compartment at the bottom interior of the box.
- Use the provided screwdriver to remove the battery cover.
- Insert two (2) AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.
- The key box will emit a sound or light indicator to confirm successful battery installation.
Emergency Power: In case of battery depletion, a Type-C USB port is located at the bottom of the key box. Connect a Type-C cable to an external power source (e.g., power bank) to temporarily power the device and gain access to replace the batteries.
7. App Setup and Pairing
- Download the App: Search for "Nedis Smartlife" in your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android) and download the application.
- Register/Log In: Open the app and create a new account or log in with an existing one.
- Add Device: In the app, tap the "+" icon or "Add Device" to begin the pairing process.
- Select Device Type: Choose the appropriate device category, typically "Security & Sensor" or "Lock".
- Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Pairing Mode: Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to put the key box into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing a specific button on the keypad or inside the box.
- Connect: The app will detect the key box. Select it to complete the pairing process.

8. Operating Instructions
8.1 Unlocking via Nedis Smartlife App
- Open the Nedis Smartlife app on your smartphone.
- Select your paired key box from the device list.
- Tap the "Unlock" button within the app interface. The key box will unlock.
8.2 Unlocking via Keypad (Permanent Code)
- Enter your pre-set permanent access code on the numeric keypad.
- Press the 'Check' (✓) button to confirm.
- The key box will unlock.
8.3 Generating Temporary/One-Time Codes
The Nedis Smartlife app allows you to generate various types of access codes:
- One-Time Codes: Valid for a single use.
- Temporary Codes: Valid for a specified duration (e.g., hours, days, weeks).
- Recurring Codes: Valid at specific times or days.
To generate a code:
- In the Nedis Smartlife app, select your key box.
- Navigate to the "Code Management" or "Generate Code" section.
- Choose the desired code type and set its parameters (e.g., validity period).
- Generate the code and share it with the intended user.
8.4 Viewing Access Logs
The Nedis Smartlife app maintains a record of all access events. To view access logs:
- Open the Nedis Smartlife app.
- Select your key box.
- Navigate to the "Logs" or "History" section to view a timeline of who accessed the box and when.
9. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the key box with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears in the app or on the device, or approximately once a year. Refer to Section 6 for battery installation instructions.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Nedis Smartlife app for available firmware updates for your key box to ensure optimal performance and security.
10. Troubleshooting
- Key box not responding: Check battery levels. Use the Type-C emergency power if batteries are depleted.
- Cannot connect to app: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the key box is within range. Try restarting the app and the key box (by temporarily removing and reinserting batteries).
- Keypad not working: Ensure batteries are properly installed and charged. Clean the keypad surface if dirty.
- Code not accepted: Verify the code entered is correct. Check if the temporary code has expired. Ensure the key box is not in a locked state from too many incorrect attempts.
- Difficulty pressing '0' on keypad: Some users have reported this. Try pressing firmly or using a different finger. If persistent, contact support.
