2. Safety Information

  • Always ensure proper ventilation when charging batteries.
  • Avoid open flames or sparks near the battery during charging.
  • Wear eye protection and gloves when handling batteries.
  • The charger is spark-free and polarity protected, but always connect the positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal and the negative (-) clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal or vehicle chassis away from the battery.
  • Do not attempt to charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  • Keep the charger away from water and moisture.
  • Disconnect the AC power before making or breaking battery connections.

5. Setup and Connection

    • Using Battery Clamps: Connect the red (+) clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black (-) clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal. If connecting to a vehicle battery, connect the black (-) clamp to the vehicle chassis away from the battery.
    • Using Fused Wiring Harness (Permanent Installation): Attach the red ring terminal to the positive (+) battery post and the black ring terminal to the negative (-) battery post. Ensure connections are secure. This harness allows for quick connection and disconnection of the charger.

6. Operating Instructions

The Projecta PJ-AC015-2 is a fully automatic smart charger. Once connected to the battery and power, it will automatically detect the battery's state and initiate the appropriate charging stage.

  • Charging Stages: The charger utilizes a 4-stage charging process to ensure optimal battery health and charge. These stages typically include Desulphation, Bulk Charge, Absorption, and Float/Maintenance.
  • Indicator Lights: Refer to the indicator lights on the charger for status updates. A common light sequence indicates power, charging in progress, and fully charged/maintenance mode.
  • Maintenance Mode: Once the battery is fully charged, the charger automatically switches to a maintenance (float) mode, keeping the battery at optimal charge without overcharging. This is ideal for long-term storage.
