2. Setup
2.1 Receiver Placement and Power Connection
Place the EM-XSW 1 receiver on a stable surface, away from large metal objects or other wireless devices that may cause interference. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Connect the NT 12-5 CW power supply to the "Power" input on the rear of the EM-XSW 1 receiver.
- Plug the power supply into a suitable wall outlet. The receiver will power on automatically.

2.2 Audio Output Connection
Connect the receiver to your audio mixer or amplifier using the provided XLR cables.
- For balanced audio output, connect an XLR cable from the "Bal" (XLR) output on the receiver to an XLR input on your mixer. There are two independent XLR outputs for each channel.
- Alternatively, for unbalanced audio output, connect a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) TS cable from the "Unbal" output to a 1/4 inch input on your mixer.

2.3 Handheld Transmitter Setup
- Unscrew the bottom part of the SKM 825-XSW handheld transmitter to access the battery compartment.
- Insert two AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Screw the bottom part back on securely.

2.4 Frequency Synchronization
To establish a wireless connection, the transmitter and receiver must be tuned to the same frequency.
- On the Receiver: Press the SCAN button to automatically find an available, interference-free frequency. The display will show the selected channel.
- On the Receiver: Press the SYNC button. The SYNC LED will flash, indicating it's ready to synchronize.
- On the Transmitter: Turn on the handheld transmitter. Hold the transmitter's infrared (IR) window close to the receiver's IR window (usually located near the SYNC button).
- The SYNC LED on the receiver will stop flashing and remain lit, and the transmitter's display will show the synchronized channel. Repeat this process for the second microphone and receiver channel.
3. Operation
3.1 Powering On/Off
- Receiver: The EM-XSW 1 receiver powers on automatically when connected to the power supply. To power off, disconnect the power supply.
- Transmitter: Press and hold the power button on the SKM 825-XSW handheld transmitter for approximately 2 seconds to turn it on or off.
3.2 Adjusting Volume
On the EM-XSW 1 receiver, use the VOL + and VOL - buttons for each channel to adjust the audio output level. Start with a moderate level and adjust as needed on your audio mixer.
3.3 Mute Function
The SKM 825-XSW handheld transmitter features a mute switch. Slide the switch to the MUTE position to temporarily silence the microphone. Slide it back to the ON position to resume audio transmission.
3.4 Squelch Adjustment
The squelch control on the rear of the receiver helps to suppress unwanted noise when the transmitter signal is weak or absent. Adjust the "SQ" knob for each channel. A higher squelch setting requires a stronger signal to open the audio gate, reducing background noise but potentially cutting off weak signals. A lower setting allows weaker signals but may introduce more noise.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Use the provided microfiber cleaning cloth to gently wipe the surfaces of the receiver and transmitters.
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents.
- For microphone grilles, remove the grille and clean with a soft brush if necessary. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
4.2 Battery Replacement
Replace the AA batteries in the handheld transmitters when the battery indicator on the transmitter or receiver shows low power. Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries.
- Unscrew the bottom part of the transmitter.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
- Insert two new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Screw the bottom part back on.
