2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury to personnel or damage to the machine.
- Ensure the power cord is disconnected from the electrical outlet before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or when the machine is not in use.
- Do not operate the machine in hazardous environments or near flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Use only cleaning solutions recommended by Nilfisk Advance. Refer to the solution manufacturer's safety data sheet.
- Keep hands, feet, and loose clothing clear of moving parts, such as the brush and squeegee, during operation.
- Store the machine in a dry, secure location, away from extreme temperatures and unauthorized access.
- The machine is designed for indoor use only.
3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present and undamaged. Report any shipping damage immediately to your supplier.
3.2 Initial Assembly
- Handle Attachment: Attach the handle assembly to the main unit, ensuring it clicks securely into place. Refer to the diagrams for correct orientation.
- Power Cord Connection: Connect the detachable yellow safety cord (part number 107416428) to the designated port on the machine. Ensure the cord is fully unwound before plugging into a power outlet to prevent overheating.
- Brush Installation: Verify that the medium nylon brush (part number 107411860) is correctly installed at the base of the scrubber. It should be securely seated and able to rotate freely.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Filling the Solution Tank
- Ensure the machine is unplugged from the power source.
- Locate and open the solution tank cap.
- Fill the solution tank with clean water and the appropriate cleaning solution, adhering to the manufacturer's dilution ratios. Do not exceed the 0.8 gal (3 L) capacity.
- Securely close the solution tank cap to prevent spills during operation.
4.2 Starting the Machine
- Plug the 33 ft (10m) detachable yellow safety cord into a grounded 110 V power outlet.
- Lower the handle to the operating position. Note that all machine functions, including the brush and squeegee, stop when the handle is in the upright position.
- Select the desired solution flow setting (0.05 or 0.11 gal/min) using the controls on the handle. A red LED indicator will illuminate if the solution tank is empty, signaling the need for a refill.
- Engage the brush and vacuum motor using the designated controls on the ergonomic handle.
4.3 Cleaning Procedure
Guide the scrubber across the floor at a steady, consistent pace. The SC100 is designed for single-pass scrub and dry performance, effectively removing dirt and water. Overlap each pass slightly to ensure complete and uniform cleaning coverage.
4.4 Stopping the Machine
- Lift the handle to the upright position to automatically stop all operating functions.
- Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Emptying and Cleaning the Recovery Tank
The SC100 features a flat recovery tank design with full access, making it fast and easy to clean. Empty and thoroughly rinse the recovery tank after each use to prevent the buildup of dirt, odors, and bacteria.
- Ensure the machine is unplugged.
- Remove the recovery tank from the machine.
- Dispose of the dirty water in an appropriate drain.
- Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water and allow it to air dry completely before reinstallation.
- Reinstall the recovery tank securely onto the machine.
5.2 Brush and Squeegee Maintenance
- Brush Inspection: Regularly inspect the medium nylon brush (107411860) for wear, damage, or embedded debris. Clean the brush as needed, and replace it when bristles show significant wear to maintain cleaning effectiveness.
- Squeegee Blade Check: Check the squeegee blades for cuts, tears, or excessive wear. Worn or damaged blades will impair water pickup. Replace blades as necessary to ensure optimal drying performance.
5.3 General Cleaning
Wipe down the exterior surfaces of the machine with a damp cloth after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the machine's finish.

6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine does not start | Power cord not securely connected; Handle in upright (parked) position; Circuit breaker tripped or fuse blown. | Check power connection and outlet; Lower handle to operating position; Reset circuit breaker or replace fuse. |
| Poor water pickup / Streaking | Worn or damaged squeegee blades; Recovery tank full; Vacuum motor issue or clogged vacuum hose. | Inspect and replace squeegee blades; Empty recovery tank; Check vacuum hose for obstructions; Contact service if vacuum motor is faulty. |
| No solution flow | Solution tank empty; Clogged solution line or filter; Solution flow setting is off. | Refill solution tank; Inspect and clear solution line/filter; Adjust solution flow setting. |
| Machine leaves excessive foam | Incorrect cleaning solution used; Too much detergent. | Use low-foaming or anti-foaming solution; Reduce detergent concentration. |
