Introduction

The Wildgame Innovations Terra Xtreme 22 Megapixel camera combo is designed for capturing high-quality images and videos of wildlife. This manual provides detailed instructions to help you set up, operate, and maintain your camera for optimal performance. The combo includes two cameras, two SD cards, and sixteen batteries, providing everything needed to begin scouting.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Terra Xtreme camera requires 8 AA batteries. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the battery compartment.

  1. Open the camera housing latch on the side.
  2. Locate the battery compartment.
  3. Insert 8 AA batteries, matching the polarity markings.

2. SD Card Installation

The camera supports standard SD cards. A 16GB SD card is included with each camera.

  1. With the camera housing open, locate the SD card slot.
  2. Insert the SD card with the metal contacts facing down until it clicks into place.

3. Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted using the included strap or a tripod mount.

  • Strap Mounting: Thread the provided strap through the slots on the back of the camera and secure it around a tree or post.
  • Tripod Mounting: Use the 1/4-20 threaded insert on the bottom of the camera to attach it to a tripod or other compatible mounting accessory.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

To power on the camera, slide the power switch located inside the camera housing to the 'ON' position. To power off, slide the switch to 'OFF'.

2. Menu Navigation

The camera features a simple button interface for navigation.

  • MENU: Press to access the settings menu.
  • Arrow Buttons (Up/Down): Use to navigate through menu options.
  • ENTER: Press to confirm a selection or enter a sub-menu.

3. Setting Date and Time

It is crucial to set the correct date and time for accurate record-keeping.

  1. Press the MENU button.
  2. Navigate to the 'Date/Time' setting using the arrow buttons.
  3. Press ENTER and adjust the year, month, day, hour, and minute using the arrow buttons.
  4. Press ENTER to confirm each setting.

4. Photo and Video Modes

The camera supports both still photography and 720 HD video capture.

  • Photo Mode: Captures still images at 22MP resolution.
  • Video Mode: Records 720 HD video (without audio).
  • Photo Burst: Allows for 1-3 photo burst per trigger event.

Select your desired mode via the menu settings. The camera features a super-fast .7 second trigger speed to capture quick movements.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the camera lens and PIR sensor window with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear images and proper detection.
  • Clean the camera body with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid harsh chemicals.

2. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD screen or when performance degrades. Always replace all 8 batteries at once with new, high-quality AA batteries.

3. SD Card Management

  • Regularly check the SD card capacity. Format the SD card periodically to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
  • Always remove the SD card safely by powering off the camera first.

Troubleshooting

Camera Not Turning On

  • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity.
  • Check if batteries are fully charged. Replace with new batteries if necessary.
  • Verify the power switch is in the 'ON' position.

No Images Captured

  • Check if the SD card is properly inserted and not full.
  • Ensure the camera is in the correct operating mode (Photo or Video).
  • Verify the PIR sensor is not obstructed and is facing the desired detection area.
  • Adjust sensitivity settings if necessary.

Poor Image/Video Quality

  • Clean the camera lens and PIR sensor window.
  • Ensure the camera is stable and not subject to movement.
  • Check battery levels, as low power can affect performance.
