Setup
1. Battery and Charger (Not Included)
This chainsaw is part of the Parkside X 20 V Team series and is compatible with all batteries and chargers from this series. Ensure you use a fully charged 20V Parkside X 20 V Team battery for optimal performance.
- Insert the charged battery into the battery compartment until it clicks into place.
- To remove, press the battery release button and pull the battery out.
2. Chain and Guide Bar Installation
Refer to the detailed instructions in the full manual for precise chain and guide bar installation. Ensure the chain is oriented correctly and seated properly in the guide bar groove.
3. Filling the Chain Oil Tank
The chainsaw features an automatic chain oiling system. It is crucial to keep the oil tank filled to ensure proper lubrication and extend the life of the chain and guide bar.
- Place the chainsaw on a flat, stable surface.
- Unscrew the oil tank cap (4) and remove it.
- Carefully pour the provided bio chain oil into the tank, observing the oil level window (5). Do not overfill.
- Replace the oil tank cap securely.
Important: Always check the oil level before each use and refill as necessary. Use only high-quality chain oil suitable for chainsaws.
Operation
Starting the Chainsaw
- Ensure the chain brake (9) is disengaged (pulled back towards the handle).
- Grip the front handle (6) with one hand and the rear handle (7) with the other.
- Press the safety lock-off button (if present, typically near the trigger) and then squeeze the trigger switch (8) to start the chainsaw.
- Allow the chain to reach full speed before beginning a cut.
Cutting Techniques
Always maintain a firm grip with both hands. Use the metal stop claw (10) as a pivot point for stable cutting. For angled cuts, utilize the felling handle. Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar to prevent kickback.

Stopping the Chainsaw
Release the trigger switch (8). The chain will stop immediately (within <0.15 seconds) due to the quick-stop brake system. Engage the chain brake (9) by pushing it forward after each cut or when moving between cuts.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw.
Cleaning
- Always disconnect the battery before cleaning.
- Remove sawdust and debris from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing using a brush or compressed air.
- Wipe down external surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
Chain Sharpening and Tension
- A sharp chain is essential for efficient and safe cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when dull.
- Check chain tension frequently. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. Use the tool-free chain tensioning knob (3) to adjust.
Oil Level Check
Monitor the oil level via the oil level window (5) and refill the tank with bio chain oil as needed. Never operate the chainsaw without sufficient chain lubrication.
Storage
- Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
- Always attach the guide bar protection cover (included) before storage.
- Remove the battery if storing for extended periods.
